Henry's heart raced as he fumbled for his phone in the cramped bathroom. He dialed his mother's number with trembling fingers, his eyes darting around the stark white tiles that seemed to close in on him. The soft ringtone echoed, each sound accentuating his desperation.

"Hello?" His mother's voice crackled through the phone's speaker, carrying a hint of worry.

"Mom," Henry's voice quivered, "I'm in trouble. I don't know what to do." He cast a quick glance toward the bathroom door, half-expecting it to burst open at any moment.

Calmly, his mother's voice responded, "Henry, take a deep breath. Tell me what's happening."

Henry's words tumbled out, jumbled and anxious. He recounted the events leading up to this moment – the ill-conceived plan, the kidnapping, the threats. He could feel his palms growing clammy as he talked, his voice hitching with raw fear.
