Elijah's heart sank like a stone in water as the doctor delivered the crushing words, "I'm sorry, Mr. Elijah, but he's gone. Your grandfather, Williams, has passed away." The words hung heavy in the sterile air of the hospital room, the weight of them pressing against Elijah's chest, making it difficult to breathe.
