Disguising

For over thirty minutes Jamole sat behind closed doors with Susan as he perused through the documents. And he stared at the documents and the information therein.

He couldn’t believe his eyes. Swan Real Estates Group covered a wide array of real estates in England, America, Philippine and Spain. With over ten thousand houses and five hundred acres of land.

“There we are Jamole,” Susan slammed a document into her palms. Flipped through them and pointed into it, “You know, father being industrious has always admired the hospitality industry. But unfortunately his sickness couldn’t let him do that. This is just the master plan for his hospitality business.”

“If I work harder with the best team I can help him bring that to pass, dear,” Jamole replied. “Right now I am no only serving as your husband but heir to the Swan group. I promise to make your family proud and double the total net worth of the group in the shortest time.”

Susan shook her head in confirmation as she flipped through more documents. “Okay Jamole, I am a graduate of business administration at the college of Antipolo. I can tell you it is no easy to lead an empire as this.”

Jamole sucked a deep breath and inwardly wondered if he would need education to champion the affairs of Swan group. For the record he wasn’t a graduate; the death of his parents truncated his educational ambition and he only believed in himself right now.

“Are you a graduate?” Susan asked, flipped through some more documents and when Jamole hesitated, she raised her gaze on him to see the sullen look on his face.

“I am…”

Susan interrupted him, “Don’t bother yourself, dear. I know you are not a graduate, but I shouldn’t have asked you anyways. Apologies if the question hurt you in any way.”

Jamole forced a smile on his face, “It is okay. I am fine. I mean you are not a stranger to me but my fiancée. I can’t be angry.”

Seeing the documents she had been scouting for she sighed. “Here we are, Jamole. Talking about the best team for you, I think we have got it all. In few days time we will be visiting our office where you will get to meet with the staffers of Swan Real Estate. How about that?” she asked, all smiles but not getting the reaction from Jamole.

There was a cloud of fury on the face of Jamole. She perceived Jamole was drowned in heavy thought within himself, and she argued if it was about her or his personal issues.

But Jamole was thinking about Stella and her boss, Roger James, as well as heir pals who thought he would never amount o anything in life. Would they believe it if he should reveal to them he was the chosen heir of the Swan Real Estate now? “Oh Lord, this can’t be me,” he said in his mind.

Jamole?” Susan called.

And Jamole snapped out of his thought, “yeah, dear. I am all ears,” he said, smiling huge.

“You seem to be lost in thought. Is anything he problem?” she asked and steered her wheel chair forward to glare at his face.

Jamole lit up his face with chuckling. “Never mind dear, I am fine. Is just that I am overwhelmed at this level of my life. I mean I can’t believe the beggar in a wheel chair whom I proposed marriage is the only child of Swan Pablo, and now I am not just a son-in-law of the richest family in Antipolo but also the heir.”

Susan smiled. “Well you have every reason to be overwhelmed. I must commend your true love for me. You wouldn’t believe quite a number of men looked down on me and wouldn’t even host me to a date thinking I am poor and disable. Congratulations, Jamole. It is your turn to shine.”

She pulled out her arm and they had a warm handshake.

“Yeah back to business,” Susan placed a document in front of him. “When it comes to staff Swan Group has the best and I promise you a warm time in our leadership.”

Jamole leaned forward to glance at the list of staffers he would be working with.

But Susan was fast enough to mention the number one person on the list, “We have the regional manager, Roger James. He is a good team leader and would be elated to work with you.”

“Roger James?” Jamole resounded, perplexed and gaped at Susan. He cast an inspective glance at the list and the next name after it was none other than his ex-wife, Stella Pitcher. “Stella Pitcher?” he mentioned in yet another emphatic one.

Susan tossed her head. “Yeah, Stella Pitcher is her secretary; as a matter of fact this two senior staff will give you their maximum contribution and support. You can always count on them, dear. They have been with Swan Group for a long time, so their loyalty is assured.”

All he while Susan spoke, Jamole was clouded with heavy thought. It just downed on him that Stella and her boss, Roger were staffers of Swan Real Estates and today he was the heir.

“Oh my God! This is too real to be true. Swan Real Estate Group, the same empire that hired my ex-wife and her boss are under my authority now. What an opportunity to strike back,” he said in his mind.

“Jamole?” Susan called, “Do you know them or something?” she asked, staring at her beholder suspiciously.

Jamole shook his head in disapproval. He had to deny knowing them because he wouldn’t want Susan to stop him from striking back. For all they did to him he was going to avenge.

“Okay. I know you can’t wait to meet with Roger and Stella. I promise you these are the high tier staff you can ever work with. When do you intend to resume duty as the heir of Swan Group?” she queried.

Jamole snorted and sighed. “Um, dear for now I would love to apply for job at Swan Real Estate and I will be applying as a janitor.”

“A janitor?” Susan snapped, took off her glasses and raised a furrowed brow at him, “Why, janitor? Do you realize who you are? You are my fiancée, soon we will get married and that automatically makes you the heir to my father’s company.”

Vengeance called on…
