115. The Urgent Condition

Darren didn't answer Cloe's question, of course he couldn't tell her about Mr. Handrick who had abused Mr. Salvador from a young age.

Darren instead asked a question that alluded to the incident a bit by saying, "Em Cloe, have you ever heard of any of the underclass being involved in domestic violence?"

Hearing that Cloe seemed confused about what to answer. But Cloe asked Darren back.

"Why would you ask something like that, Darren?"

Darren was silent and didn't want to speak up again. Perhaps he was too quick to ask that question so Cloe didn't want to give him much information.

"I hope you don't get involved with any scandals to ruin your reputation, Darren. I want to see you and your company succeed and be able to achieve all your dreams that have been there since we got married," said Cloe who again showed her concern for Darren, to the point of mentioning his dreams.

From there Darren felt there was an opening to make Cloe even more enamored with him.
