"I don't understand what you're saying, Mr. Darren. Why do you sound like you're accusing me?" asked Mr. Rudolf. His tone did not sound guilty at all.

Darren had guessed that Mr. Rudolf would not be that easy to trap. Either Mr. Rudolf was so used to being cornered that he was not easily intimidated, or Mr. Rudolf was already very skilled at evading blame.

"I'm not accusing you. I'm just trying to determine what you meant," Darren said calmly. Although to be honest, he felt uneasy and wanted to ask a to-the-point question.

Mr. Rudolf immediately sighed heavily. Unbeknownst to Darren, Mr. Rudolf was actually arching a sardonic smile.

"I'm sure you're smart enough to understand what I've been saying," Mr. Rudolf replied. "Why do you sound like a fool? Or, are you the chameleon I said you were?"

Darren couldn't help but laugh after hearing Mr. Rudolf's words.
