Chapter 4

After breakfast, Charlie immediately went to work at a supermarket. Charlie took advantage of his college holidays to work as a cashier at a supermarket not far from his house. Not only that, Charlie also sometimes works part-time as a restaurant waiter to supplement his income.

"Are you going to come to work with me?" Charlie asked Stella who was still walking behind him.

Stella smiled broadly then said, "No, I just want to buy something there."

Charlie nodded in understanding, without saying anything. The two of them walked towards the supermarket where Charlie worked. After arriving there, Charlie immediately changed clothes and started working as a cashier and shopkeeper.

"I'll take the things I need first." Stella walked away to choose what to buy.

A few minutes later, Stella returned to Charlie who was at the cashier, carrying a full basket. Charlie immediately carried out his duties as a cashier.

"Charlie, when are we going to find out who sent you those packages?" Stella asked starting the conversation.

Charlie seemed to think for a moment, even though his hands were still busy putting things into the paperback. "Never mind, I don't have time," he said resignedly, he didn't have time if he had to deal with things like that. It's better to use it for work and studying, right?

Stella chuckled in annoyance, then said, "Aren't you curious? It could be that this person has evil intentions towards you."

"If he's evil, why? gave me a lot of things? Moreover, those things look expensive," Charlie replied without interest.

Charlie's words surprised Stella, expensive things?

"It's possible that the person who sent the goods to your house was a rich person!" Exciting as usual, that's Stella. Can't just act normal.

"I don't know, I'll find out later," said Charlie as he handed Stella a paperback. "It's finished," he continued, adjusting his glasses.

Stella grabbed the paperback roughly and then gave him the card to pay. "Damn, you kicked me out?" She said annoyed.

"Huwaaa!" Charlie, who was initially laughing, immediately fell silent when he heard the sound of crying which was quite loud in his ears.

Stella and Charlie simultaneously turned to the source of the sound, they saw a little child crying in front of the supermarket door.

"Your child?" Stella blurted out without thinking.

"Don't make things up." After hitting Stella's arm, he immediately approached the crying little child. Followed by Stella, who also wondered why the little girl was crying.

Charlie squatted in front of the little girl, smiling faintly. "Hey, why are you crying here?" he asked softly.

The girl looked at Charlie with a sad look and then said, "I want chocolate, but I don't have any money."

Charlie laughed a little at the little girl's behavior, then he turned to look at Stella who was standing beside him.

"What?" asked Stella, raising one eyebrow.

"You bought chocolate, didn't you, and gave it to this child," answered Charlie, pointing to the pepper back in Stella's hand.

Stella snorted in annoyance, even so, she still took out a bar of chocolate she had just bought. Then crouched next to Charlie, while giving chocolate to the girl.

"This is what you want, right? Don't cry anymore. Make noise," said Stella at the end with an ignorant smile.

The little girl had stopped crying, now she was smiling widely at Stella and Charlie. "Yey! Thank you. Can I hug you?" She said looking at Charlie.

Charlie was confused at first, but immediately he stretched out his hand saying, "Of course."

The little girl immediately hugged Charlie, and even Stella who saw her felt jealous because she wasn't hugged.

But...

"Awww." Charlie groaned in pain as he felt his hair in someone's hand, and it was the little girl who did it. Suddenly Charlie let go of his embrace, his hand caressing his head which was horrified by the slap, that made Charlie not dare to scold him.

"I'll go first. Thank you." The little girl immediately left from there.

Stella couldn't keep quiet, she was still laughing imagining how Charlie's face was in pain. But her laughter disappeared for a moment when the little girl came back to him. Soon, her hands easily grabbed Stella's long hair.

"Ouch, it hurts!" Stella suddenly turned to look at the little girl, who ran out of the supermarket with a sharp look. For whatever reason her head hurts.

"Whose child is that!" Stella complained in annoyance.

While Charlie laughed in his place. "That's called karma because you laughed at me earlier," he said as he walked back to the cashier's desk.

After managing to grab Charlie and Stella's hair, a little girl ran towards a big tree not far from the supermarket where Charlie worked. Someone is hiding behind the tree.

"This is uncle, I got it," said the little girl, thrusting five strands of hair in her hand. Don't ask whose hair it is, it's Charlie's or Stella's hair. Because the little girl had just grabbed their hair.

"Good job, thank you," he said reaching into his coat pocket, then handed a wad of money to the little girl.

"Take this, buy whatever you want," said the person while ruffling the little girl's hair.

"Can I buy a star?" asked the little girl excitedly.

The person was silent for a moment before he nodded in response to the child. "Yes, just buy a lot," he replied with a forced smile, encouraging the little girl to leave immediately.

After the little girl left, he called someone on his cell phone.

"I've got him, I'll be there soon," said the man. He looked happy, then left there carrying the bag containing the strands of hair. What is the hair for?
