09. New Bank Card

No one answered, they only heard rumors about Kalix from a remote village, but no one knew where that was. Even the truth itself was somewhat sketchy.

"You all don't know anything, and it's probably better that way."

"Whatever it is, we don't care. What we know is that you're poor and come from a village. How can you have a platinum card? Do you think we're foolish?"

"Well, you're not foolish," Kalix replied with a nod. "I hate to admit it, but I have a filthy rich old man for a father."

After saying that, Kalix went to check on Rocky's condition. He let the others have their wild thoughts. Afterward, Kalix left them and returned to his dorm room.

He didn't care what those people thought of him.

The next day, Kalix noticed two of his dorm mates looking awkward around him, but their attitude wasn't as annoying as yesterday. Kalix took a shower and got everything ready before heading to class. He had some bread for breakfast while walking.

On the campus forum, there were discussions about Kalix. Some people guessed he was a rich kid in rebellion because of his scoundrel of a father, while others thought Kalix was just a young man being taken care of by a sugar mommy.

Kalix didn't know about this until he entered the classroom and felt everyone's eyes on him.

"What's going on?" Kalix asked the system.

"You can check it on the campus forum."

Kalix immediately opened his phone and looked at the campus forum. His old-fashioned phone attracted some attention, and some people discreetly took pictures.

Although Kalix was labeled as a poor village boy, many girls were paying attention to him because of his good looks. Plus, today, Kalix didn't bow his head or lower his posture, he appeared calm and attractive.

The more people looked at him, the more they liked him. Overlook a few imperfections on his face.

Kalix calmly put his phone down and sat, waiting for the professor to arrive. He didn't care about all the talk about him on the campus forum. After all, in the first place, people's conversations were still dominated by the beloved senior, Jaxson.

In the afternoon, when the class ended, a woman came to him and said, "Kalix, there are some men in suits looking for you."

Kalix furrowed his brow and casually asked, "Where are they?"

The woman blushed slightly when she saw Kalix, his temperament was quite appealing, after all. "Uh... they're waiting for you in the lounge, the dean of the faculty asked them to wait there."

"Alright, thanks." Kalix took his steps towards the dean's office. He didn't know who had come to look for him, and they were clearly not ordinary people.

Upon arriving at the dean's office lounge, Kalix met with the dean of the faculty at the door. The dean gazed at Kalix with a complex expression before saying, "The bank representatives are waiting for you inside."

Kalix nodded and entered. Along the way, the system had already informed him who had come and what was happening.

The bank had come to the campus to meet him because Kalix didn't have any other address besides the campus dormitory. The bank's visit was to issue another platinum bank card for Kalix. In addition to the funds transferred by Mason, there were also overnight investment returns. Although the initial returns weren't substantial, over time, Kalix's income from various investments facilitated by the system had grown significantly.

In addition to investments, there were also stock purchases and the acquisition of several buildings with the potential for high resale value after a few years.

The bank's visit also indicated that Kalix was clearly not an ordinary customer. Even the dean was reluctant to have the bank representatives wait outside or in a secure room.

"Hello, Mr. Owen," greeted a woman, Mrs. Benedict. "I'm Kyle Benedict, the Relationship Manager from Horizon Bank, and this is my assistant, Noah Clarke."

"Hello, Mrs. Benedict and Mr. Clarke." After shaking hands, they sat down. Then, with a hint of regret, Kalix said, "I apologize, but I can only welcome you here. I haven't had the chance to purchase a residence in this city yet."

"That's alright, we understand that you're quite busy. Especially as a new student at such a prestigious university, it must be challenging to balance your time in the first year."

Kalix replied briefly but didn't lose his courtesy. They discussed a few more things before getting to the point. Afterward, Kalix signed and received his exclusive bank card.

Their conversation was somewhat limited due to the lack of privacy in the meeting place. Shortly after, Mrs. Benedict and her assistant left.

After seeing them off, Kalix met with the dean of the faculty again. The dean looked at Kalix with the same complex expression as before, he wanted to ask but felt uneasy about it. Kalix didn't bother explaining to the dean, he just expressed his gratitude and left.

"It seems it's time to buy an apartment," Kalix said to the system.

"Yes, what kind of apartment are you looking for? I will find it for you and handle everything, you just need to sign and move in."

Kalix chuckled at the system's lengthy words, thinking that he was not only reborn but also got a system that could be his assistant and confidant. It was a blessing for him.

"I'll leave everything to you, you know better than I do. Oh, use my mother's name for all property purchases."

"Okay!" After that, the system disappeared.

Kalix didn't have time for lunch, he went straight to his next class and sat in his usual seat. Unexpectedly, there was a sandwich in his bag and a carton of milk, along with a handwritten note.

Frowning, Kalix glanced around. If he hadn't read his name at the end of the note, he would have thought it was an illusion. During his college years, Kalix had never experienced anything like this.

"Hey!" Kalix called out to someone sitting nearby. The person looked in his direction, and Kalix asked, "Do you know who left these items here?"

The person wanted to shake their head and ignore Kalix, but they remembered the rumors on the forum. So they answered, "It was Jane's doing."

Kalix thanked them, looked at the sandwich, the carton of milk, and the note, and smiled wryly with a hint of disgust.
