10. Revenge Begins

"He doesn't know what the woman was thinking by sending things like this," Kalix disposed of everything mercilessly and returned to his seat calmly.

Under everyone's gaze, Kalix remained completely indifferent. Who didn't know about the relationship between Kalix and Jane? Almost all first-year students knew because Jane was very famous.

Jane was the most beautiful first-year student, and her popularity couldn't be underestimated. When people found out that their goddess was dating Kalix, who had never been noticed by anyone, all the guys were jealous. They also hated Kalix and made secret calculations.

However, now it wasn't just that Kalix was unhappy with Jane's attention, he also discarded Jane's gifts.

The guy who had previously answered Kalix's question, Luke, asked him in a whisper, "Why did you throw away Jane's gifts? Aren't you dating?"

"We've broken up," Kalix replied indifferently.

"Really?" Luke was surprised and accidentally raised his voice, causing some students to look in their direction again. "I'm sorry, I apologize."

Luke turned back to Kalix, wanting to ask if Kalix was not afraid of being pursued by Jane. However, considering their not-so-close relationship, Luke swallowed his question.

Kalix didn't care too much either, he ignored Luke.

The professor arrived and delivered the lesson until late in the afternoon. After that, Kalix went to a fast-food restaurant to cover the cost of the loss and submit his resignation.

"Have you eaten?" the manager asked when he saw Kalix arrive.

Kalix nodded. "Manager, there's something I want to tell you."

The manager nodded and led Kalix to his office. "Alright, what is it?"

Sitting in front of the manager, Kalix showed his politeness as a sign of gratitude for his past and current life. Slowly, he said, "I've come to compensate for the trouble from last night."

"Don't worry about it, if you have money, just save it," the manager said the same as yesterday.

Kalix smiled sincerely. "It was my fault last night, and I should make up for the loss."

The manager seemed to want to refuse again, but Kalix quickly said, "Actually, I have enough money to cover the loss, don't worry."

"You're not lying?"

Kalix met the manager's gaze and nodded seriously. "I wouldn't dare to lie to you, Manager. You're one of the good people I've met during my time here in college."

"I'm not that good," the manager sighed, but he didn't blame Kalix's words.

"There's something else I want to tell you," Kalix said again. "I want to resign from my job."

The manager was slightly surprised and hastily asked, "Are you having problems?"

"No, no. I'm quitting because I have something more important to do, and my parents sent me enough money."

Kalix had to lie, and he didn't know how to answer the manager's questions.

"Ah, I see. If that's the case, it's fine to resign. I'll have the accountant calculate your payment for the past two weeks and transfer it to your account."

"Thank you, Manager."

They didn't talk for too long before Kalix left. He bought a whole fried chicken and took it back to his dorm room.

Around 7 o'clock, when Kalix returned to his dorm room, he opened the door only to see a familiar yet unfamiliar face. Kalix didn't pay much attention to Luke, he didn't care whether his classmate had come to see Jimmy or Grey.

Seeing Kalix arrive, Luke smiled and said, "Hey, from now on, I'll be your roommate."

Only then did Kalix turn to Luke with a questioning look.

Luke didn't understand the meaning of Kalix's gaze, but he provided an explanation, "Jimmy and Grey forced me to switch dorm rooms with them because my room only had space for two people."

"Oh," Kalix replied casually. He placed the fried chicken on the table.

"Fried chicken!" Luke exclaimed with sparkling eyes. "Did you buy it to share with your roommates? Unfortunately, they've already left, and now I'm your roommate."

Seeing it that way, Kalix understood what he meant. He took a deep breath in silence and said, "Yes, let's eat together."

"Yay! You're so kind!" Luke pushed aside his laptop and sat down enthusiastically, waiting for Kalix to unwrap the fried chicken.

They ate together and chatted, though most of the conversation came from Luke, and Kalix responded with 'mm' or just nodded lightly.

Their conversation revolved around fried chicken, moved on to classmates, Kalix's ex-girlfriend, and ended up on the most popular senior.

"Do you know Senior Jaxson?"

Kalix furrowed his brow upon hearing that name, but he didn't show his dislike directly. He simply nodded.

"I heard Senior Jaxson liked a freshman girl, but she rejected him." In between bites, Luke chewed on his chicken.

"People say that the girl who rejected Senior Jaxson is a fool, but not many know that she's actually not worse than Senior Jaxson."

After hearing this, Kalix knew who the girl was. It had to be Eugene.

Eugene was the daughter of a conglomerate. She was intelligent and quite pretty. In the future, Eugene would marry Jaxson, not because Jaxson genuinely loved her, but because of status and pride. Jaxson didn't like rejection, and Eugene had repeatedly turned him down.

Thinking about his past life, Kalix had a selfish thought. If he wanted to dismantle the Dominic family, wasn't confronting Jaxson a good starting point?

"Hey, why are you daydreaming?"

Luke's call brought Kalix back from his reverie, and he shook his head.

"I want to take a shower, you can finish the rest." Kalix got up and headed to the bathroom under Luke's happy gaze.

Once in the bathroom, he asked the system, "Can I use this approach?"

"Of course. You can use any method, and I will help you handle it."

Hearing that, Kalix began to contemplate it. Maybe it was a despicable act to use someone to achieve a goal. However, upon reflection, this could be beneficial for both Kalix and Eugene.

Wouldn't it mean that Kalix was keeping Eugene away from the man who would make her life worse in the future? Then, it couldn't be considered a mistake on Kalix's part.

"That girl should be thankful to me for saving her from someone like Jaxson."

The system didn't respond.

The first step Kalix needed to take was to grab Eugene's attention.

During his college days, Eugene kept a low profile. She didn't interact with people too much and focused solely on her studies. Eugene was majoring in business management, while Kalix was majoring in software engineering to make money faster after graduation.

It was somewhat contradictory, but they could align.

"System, please provide me with information about Eugene, including her contact number and social media account name."

Kalix took a deep breath and closed his eyes for a moment. His revenge was officially beginning.
