107. Sunburst

It was still 6 p.m. when they finished dinner. Eugene sat in front of the glowing television screen with her cupcake, occasionally glancing towards the balcony where Kalix was talking on the phone. The TV screen didn't interest her, but she had no other entertainment.

Her phone rang, and Eugene picked up the flat object from the table. Glancing at the sender's name, her brow furrowed instantly.

It was a message from someone she didn't want to think about. Eugene sighed in frustration, ready to toss her phone aside when she heard a familiar voice from behind.

"What's wrong? Someone bothering you?"

She turned to see Kalix approaching, stopping behind her. He raised an eyebrow at Eugene and smiled.

"Why do you look a bit foolish?"

"Humph!" Eugene turned her face away, uninterested in what Kalix was doing.

Kalix sat beside her, silently observing. His actions made Eugene uneasy, but her expression remained indifferent. If her cheeks weren't flushed, Kalix wouldn't know she felt embarrass
