Chapter 3- Quick to the rescue

Carlos continued driving recklessly, hitting any zombie that came his way. He aimed to save his mom and sister. Afterward, learned the mystery behind his imagination which turned into reality.

The zombies continued increasing in numbers. Once bitten by a zombie, a person collapses and further wakes up to another creature. His head twitched profusely not abiding by any mission but to quench his taste for blood.

Sounds especially noise attract zombies, so Carlos's bike made more and more chase after him.

Auguste moved to his supernatural machine and stared at it persistently.

He picked up a fluid contained in a white experimenting bottle.

"Virginia Rodriguez! Let's see if you are alive or not"

He smiled and poured the fluid Inside his detector. A machine small and square in shape. It looked more like a microwave oven, specially meant for experimenting with human brains as well as fluids that he had absorbed for future purposes.

Virginia's whitish fluid was more of his target.

"Your mortality is in my captivity, Virginia! Let's check if you're still alive or dead!"

He said as he switched on the cable only to see the result as "Positive!"

His eyes widened as he shook his hands in anger.

"How is she alive?"

"That woman is supposed to be dead along with her useless son. They will all ruin my plan the moment they realize how crucial they are!"

A voice interrupted his soliloquy

"godfather! The city is really in grave danger"

Diego said as Auguste turned to him in a moody sight.

Realizing his mistake, Diego stepped back.

"Do I need to remind you that this lab is my privacy? Why did you come here, not just that, but with a girl?"

"godfather, I know that I am wrong here but this girl had been a good help to us. Especially in terminating Carlos!"

Auguste seemed interested in what Diego said to him

"How do you mean?"

He inquired as he switched off his detector system and sat on his office table.

"Yes Sir, Carlos is dead. I mean, we pushed him to one of the zombies and I'm sure that he is dead by now "

Rhea added in her slim structure and short heightened hair.

"Hmmm, I see. So he is dead "

Auguste added with a forceful grin

"We have to leave this country as soon as it is possible. Else, I fear that these zombies won't stop their destruction "

Auguste added and prepared to close his lab when he remembered that he still had to take care of Virginia, seems Carlos was dead.

Noticing that his uncle was not ready to leave, Diego turned to him

"godfather, aren't you leaving?"

"I need to take care of something now. Go downstairs, take care of my luggage as well as yours. We need to leave here now"

Auguste added and reactivated his detector system.

"godfather, what about dad? Isn't he coming here? You told me that he is in safe hands"

Auguste stopped what he was doing after hearing this question. Flash images of how a fluid was injected into a man sprang into his head as he jolted back to the present scene.

"Oh! Don't worry about that, Son. Your dad is in safe hands, okay?"

Diego gestured and left along with Rhea.

"I have so many problems on my table. And now, my son is getting suspicious. I have to do everything in my power to kill Virginia and every member of her family. That is the only way to ensure my victory in this battle. I will rule everyone. I will turn Neon City into my city!"

Auguste said as he put on his goggles and made some typing which revealed the current address of Virginia.

"La'bestine, huh?"

He grinned and went to his virus system. He poured Virginia's fluid inside the absorber which will resolve and automatically transform the virus into Virginia's body.

At the successful completion of this attempt, Auguste sat still and smiled

"In ten seconds, Virginia will automatically become a zombie. What a victory!"

Carlos increased the speed of his bike as he raced faster.

He started hearing some sparkling sounds. It distracted his ride as he couldn't concentrate. He started envisioning where a woman was transforming into a zombie out of her will.

He closed his eyes as he drove on the express road.

The vision became clearer; it was his mom

"Mother!"

He yelled and opened his eyes only to find out that his bike was at the edge of the bridge. Almost ready to fall into the river. The area where he is seemed safe.

There were no zombies there. He took a C-turn and continued driving faster.

"Five seconds to go, Virginia!"

Auguste said as he switched on his television. In his lab were tens of televisions.

He switched them on at the same time and watched the headlines.

Carlos finally arrived at his mom's house.

Getting there, everywhere was silent. He hopped down from his bike and every step he took left an everlasting echo in the compound.

"Mom!"

He said softly as he approached the entryway. Just as he was about to open the door, the area where the zombie scratched started glowing.

His instinct told him that something was wrong as he was still lost in the shocking glow on his left hand.

His hand pulled him backward without his consent. He tried forcing himself not to move but couldn't control the effect of the glow.

It continued pulling him backward until he got to a wall.

"Alright, one minute to go, Virginia!"

Auguste said happily as he lifted his sight from the detector system.

The glow still pulled Carlos out from the wall which he was leaning on.

He closed his eyes instantly and envisioned where fluid was about to be injected into his mom.

In his vision, the fluid was approaching straight to his Mom, he held it with his hands and it poured onto the floor. He opened his eyes and immediately, Auguste's detector system started beeping with a blinking inscription "Terminated... Terminated... Terminated!"

Carlos looked up and saw his mom! The fluid that poured out in his vision was on the floor in reality.

"How is this possible?"

"How is this possible?"

Carlos and Auguste muttered surprisingly at the same time
