Chapter 4- Mission Accomplished

"Are you alright?"

Middle-aged Virginia inquired out of fear.

"Mom, how did this fluid end up here?"

Carlos asked and his mom was intrigued by the glow in his hands.

"What is this, Son?"

Virginia inquired but Carlos neglected her question.

"Well, I came out only to see you in an unstable manner. I tried to help out but this fluid came out from nowhere. At the edge of hitting me, it fell on the floor!"

"That was exactly what I saw in my visions"

Carlos said immediately after his mother

"Really? You have started imagining the future?"

Virginia questioned with a smile on her face.

"No Mom, we have to leave here. It is not safe here"

As they wanted to leave, the glow on his hands became brighter and even painful.

"Ugh!"

Carlos exhaled

"What's the problem?"

Virginia said and held his hands but was shocked by the glow.

"I have a bad feeling about this, Mom!"

He added and asked his mom to hide.

"I think that this glow appeared because something precarious is about to occur! I will have a look"

He stared at the entryway as he suspected that something was off with the door. He walked closer to it and the glow increased and tortured him.

As he wanted to touch the door, a zombie gripped his hands and pulled him closer to it.

In retaliation, Carlos spanked the zombie with his elbow and left its grip with a suppressing kick.

"Be careful, Carlos!"

Virginia screamed and the glow on Carlo's hand disappeared.

The zombie still attacked Carlos. Carlos positioned his hands like a taekwandonist as he strolled around the entryway with his gaze focused on the zombie that ran towards him.

As the zombie came closer to him, Carlos took a sharp flight and landed a kick on the zombie which refused to fall.

He grabbed the zombie and smacked him with his shoulders.

The zombie grabbed his blouse and brought his teeth to bite Carlos but, Carlos used his elbows to hit the zombie's teeth and pushed him off.

As fast as he could, Carlos pulled the female zombie on her blood-stained hair and started hitting her head on the iron-made door.

Virginia covered her mouth as she couldn't think of any possible way to help her son. The zombie growled like a wolf as Carlos continuously hit his head against the door.

The zombie released her green gunk which rushed out from her head.

"Come on Mom, we need to leave right now!"

Carlos said and left immediately with his mom. They hopped on his bike and rode off instantly.

Auguste was lost in thoughts as to how his attack was backfired. How the fluid was terminated as well as who terminated it.

"That can't be possible, I have worked very hard to be in this position today. I can't allow Virginia to ruin everything I have worked for!"

He switched off his detector system and stared at the picture which showcased him alongside Virginia and Victorino with three little children in their midst.

"Forty years of being a scientist! No acknowledgement, no regards. Bringing Neon City to an end is the least I can do, I will be the superhero and at the same time, the villain!"

He added to himself as he took a sharp remembrance of how the whole chaos in Neon City started.

Auguste wanted to bring the world to an end. Not just Neon City, he wants to reign supreme and create another world where there will be nothing like death. He wanted to reign along with his family the only way to do this was by destroying the world.

Of course, he can't wage a war against the whole world but can cause havoc and make the world destroy itself. That was when the thought of Apocalypse came into his head.

He will bring the world to an end by making them all turn into zombies and having control over their activities.

He was digging up in his lab yard to figure out if there was any weapon.

With his experiments and manipulation of his machine, he created the detector software.

This machine he used in conducting many tests.

Auguste's remembrance of his achievement was interrupted by Diego and Rhea.

"What was that glow all about?"

Virginia questioned Carlos who was concentrated on his speed.

"That I don't know but I think that the glow activates whenever there is danger around!"

"Are you referring to danger or zombies? Son, it glowed brighter when the zombie was nearer, isn't this supposed to be a warning sign? Tell me, when did this start?"

Virginia said immediately after her son who exhaled sharply.

"Come on Mom, I don't know. It all started today, how am I expected to know how it..."

Carlos came to a sudden pause in his utterance as he closed his eyes and drove recklessly.

"Watch out Carlos!"

Virginia's screaming was ignored by Carlos who was lost in another imagination.

This time around, it was a young lady surrounded by Zombies. He must navigate a way to save her from these zombies.

Carlos's bike was about to enter the river when he opened his eyes

"SAVE HER!"

He said and regained his conscience. His sweat dropped on the gear surface and he took an unexpected flip; instead of the bike falling into the river, it took a C-turn on the air and landed in the road.

"Genius!"

His mother said and Carlos looked back.

"Mom, we need to save her!"

Virginia was stunned by this utterance. Her Yelp was followed by an instant overspeeding of Carlos's bike. The drop of sweat that touched the gear surface twisted the gear and made an instant speed.

"Carlos, slow down!"

Virginia screamed but Carlos turned a deaf ear.

He continued racing until he got to a petrol station. His bike came to a halt the moment they arrived there.

"What are we doing here?"

Virginia asked and Carlos hopped down. His hand started glowing and he said

"She is here!"
