104. Pointed Gun

Applause and cheers resounded as the priest allowed the bride and groom to kiss. Afterwards, they walked side by side into the chapel.

Glenn glanced at one of the wedding attendants, "Where's the fake bride from earlier?!" he asked, surprised to see the tear in Amber's dress where she had stood at the altar.

The attendant, who had been instructed to watch over Amber, looked puzzled, "Oh, she was here earlier," she said hesitantly.

The woman seemed very innocent and young; apparently, she had been distracted by the show outside and forgotten her duties. Amber had escaped.

Glenn couldn't interrogate her. Someone slipped their hand into his arm, slender fingers with neatly painted light pink nails.

It was his wife's hand. Glenn turned and smiled at Hazel, who pouted playfully at him. "Hey, husband..." she teased, fluttering her long eyelashes. Glenn swallowed hard and loosened his suddenly tight bow tie.
