165. Reroute

As Mr. Zhang and Mei returned to their residence during dinner, Glenn suddenly initiated a serious conversation with the professor. Coincidentally, Mei was not with them as she had mentioned that she had some work she couldn't leave. Hence, Mei decided to return home later.

“Where is Mei?” Glenn asked during their dinner.

“She’s doing a bit of research. She’s always been hardworking and diligent.”

“Oh, does she work in your lab, sir?”

Mr. Zhang shook his head. “No, at another company. I’m no longer involved in any research, Glenn. I’ve sold my lab.”

“Mr. Zhang, I know this seems sudden, but I have to return to Eagertown soon.”

“Oh, why is that, Glenn?”

Mr. Zhang's expression was one of feigned surprise. In reality, he probably found it hard to relax around Glenn in Yuhan. Moreover, if Glenn returned to Eagertown, Mr. Zhang wouldn't have to be suspicious anymore.

“How did your conversation with Dao go?” Mr. Zhang added.

“It was just a casual conversation, Mr. Zhang,” Glenn deflected. “
