79. Escape

"Dad, look at what's going viral today," Hazel greeted her dad as she approached him, who had just been brought home and gathered with Miriam.

Everything felt normal, and Mr Lucas had never been happier with the normalcy. Now, he looked at Hazel and Miriam with a fresh perspective. Normalcy was a blessing, and he didn't want to exchange it for baseless hatred anymore.

Mr Lucas placed a teaspoon in his hand and paid attention to what his daughter was reporting. His eyebrows immediately furrowed as he read it, asking Hazel to hand him the tablet so he could examine it more closely.

"Does Dad know about this?" Hazel asked curiously.

"Yes..." her dad replied with his eyes still fixed on the tablet screen, which surprised Hazel because earlier he had just answered casually.
