80. Deceived

Everyone in the room was startled upon hearing the news.

"Dad, where do you think he's headed?" Hazel asked her Dad with concern.

She still remembered the tense moments when she and Aunt Irina were detained and pushed out of the helicopter towards the heavily burning building.

Unconsciously, Hazel rubbed her shoulders, dispelling the sudden shiver. A hand squeezed her shoulder, and she turned around, finding it to be Glenn.

The shiver turned into a warm throb, making her feel comfortable and calm. Glenn's grip on her shoulder seemed to signal that she didn't need to worry because he would always be by her side to protect her.

"How strange... Hasn't he been paralyzed almost all over his body? How could he escape? And besides, isn't there always a police officer guarding his hospital room?" Miriam asked. The same thoughts crossed the minds of the others.

"He has many accomplices who can help him, Aunt," Glenn replied.
