Part 1

The sounds indicating the worms that have been screaming for food come from the stomach of a man who is currently focused on the monitor screen in front of him.

Both of the man's retinas seem to be continuously fixed on the intriguing laptop monitor.

"Sigh... why do I have to be hungry at the wrong time?" the man grumbles with frustration.

He glances at the watch on his hand, seemingly unsure of its time, then looks at the clock on the wall.

12:36 PM

Xavier, the man, sighs deeply. At this hour, there's no hope of satisfying his hunger.

No, it's not because Xavier lacks a lover or partner, but his wife, deeply involved in the outside world, has made him accustomed to her absence whenever he's busy working like this.

Currently, Xavier deliberately didn't go to the office. He decided to work from home because not only is he lazy to prepare early, but he also wants to focus more in his empty house.

Xavier leans back in his work chair, his gaze wandering around the living room. He strokes his stomach, feeling the hunger creeping in.

"I don't know how long I have to endure this hunger," he mutters.

Xavier decides to ignore his hunger, letting his brain continue working tirelessly.

On the other side, a woman in glamorous and eccentric attire is seen parking her car in front of her two-story house and her husband's.

A long sigh escapes her mouth.

She adjusts the glasses on her eyes, sticking them right at the end of her head.

"What's wrong, Elnora? Are you feeling uncertain?" another woman beside her bench asks.

This woman is Elnora's close friend, and Elnora can call her Key.

"Uncertain? Of course not. How could I be uncertain?" Elnora replies firmly.

A small chuckle adorns the woman's face. Elnora seems to consider Key's words as a joke meant to console her.

Elnora shakes her head, looking at the luxurious two-story house.

"Sure about that? Can you get a share of his wealth?" Key questions, capturing Elnora's attention.

Elnora grins, seemingly belittling her friend's words.

"My business is more than enough to sustain me. I don't need the division of wealth and such."

Key nods, avoiding prolonging the conversation.

Despite clear signs of hesitation and dilemma in the woman's peripheral vision, her logic prevails.

"Wait here. I'll grab my things, and we'll live together in the apartment. or he who will leave, we'll just see later."

Key can only nod. A hint of disagreement is apparent within her, but she's not the type of friend to step in and manage her friend's life.

"I hope everything will be okay. Elnora. Elnora. I don't know what you're really looking for. Your mind never escapes dissatisfaction," Key thinks to herself after Elnora closes her car door.

Key remains alone in the car, hoping and praying for the best in her friend's life.

Elnora opens her house door without knocking or ringing the doorbell.

In recent days until now, her housemaid has been on leave, tending to her firstborn who is currently giving birth in their hometown.

Elnora's footsteps pause at the main entrance of her house. She freezes, gazing in all directions within her home.

Various moments of her life instantly play like an old cassette.

However, Elnora has already made her decision. All this is now her chosen life, no longer a forced decision.

"I will resolve everything. This is my life choice."

Elnora affirms in her heart. She must not think of anything else because everything she decides is her own wish.

"He should have been home by now," Elnora thinks to herself.

The woman walks towards the living room, the favorite spot for the man to relax.

Indeed, just about 5 steps away. Elnora can see how her husband's back leans on one of the sofas.

Without calling, Elnora knows for sure that he is aware of her presence. It's impossible for Xavier not to hear the sound of the front door opened by the woman.

Elnora looks at something now in her hand; a breath escapes her mouth before she approaches her husband.

Standing right in front of her husband, still focused on his laptop screen, Xavier senses someone's presence and lifts his face to see a woman in unusually extravagant attire.

Xavier seems to squint, unbelieving when realizing his wife is coming home in the middle of the day.

A moment later, Xavier looks back at his laptop screen. He feels the work he's doing is far more important than the presence of his wife, who appears unusually today.

Elnora rolls her eyes, realizing no words come out of her husband's mouth when he sees her.

Her heart becomes more certain about everything.

Thud!

A folder that Elnora has been holding tightly slips perfectly onto the sofa table.

The folder instantly grabs Xavier's attention.

This time, it's not just a look of confusion displayed by Xavier but also some words coming out of his mouth.

"What's this?" Xavier asks, confused.

Again and again, Elnora sighs. Without stopping, she continues to sigh.

"Just open it. You have hands and a mouth perfect for finding out what's inside that folder," Elnora replies, folding her arms across her chest.

Xavier grumbles, intending to ignore it. "It's a divorce petition from me."

Elnora, who already knows his nature, opens her voice. She chooses to lower her ego, not insisting that he read it himself.

Contrary to Elnora's expectations, he appears very calm and peaceful hearing the words from Elnora's mouth.

Not wanting to seem too hopeful, Elnora tries to hide her unbelieving expression at her husband's attitude.

"Are you not going to give any response? I'm not joking now. Look! Our names are written in this letter," Elnora says dissatisfied with Xavier's response.

Xavier releases the papers in his hands, looking at Elnora intently.

"Are you sure you want to divorce me?" Xavier asks calmly.

Elnora is annoyed. Disliking his response, she tries to control her frustration.

"Of course," Elnora answers lightly.

Xavier nods. "For the last time, are you sure you won't regret all the decisions you've made?" Xavier asks so casually.

"Regret?" Elnora sneers and puts on a disdainful expression.

A small chuckle escapes her mouth. Thoughts of her thriving business make Elnora underestimate the question posed by her husband.

"I have a business that is rapidly growing. So what? What should I worry about? I can live and meet my needs without your help!" Elnora asserts arrogantly, raising her chin.

Xavier scoffs.

He seems to understand what answer the woman will give.

"Alright. If that's your decision, I won't hold you because I'm not good at begging others," Xavier replies, leaning back on the sofa.

Elnora clenches her fists. She feels insulted.

Elnora wants to leave. However, Xavier quickly manages to stop her for a few seconds.

"Don't ever come back. Because I'm not willing to accept back someone who has decided to leave my life.”
