Part 2

Xavier focused on the work displayed on his laptop screen. For him, the job on his laptop was far more important than his wife, who he felt had no effect or impact on his life whatsoever.

"I am confident in my decision."

Elnora's voice echoed in Xavier's ears. There was no hint of fear or concern about the words that had just come out of her mouth. Xavier's heart had become like a rock, unaffected by anything thrown at it, much like rocks in the ocean.

From the corner of Xavier's eye, he could see Elnora's annoyed expression because she hadn't received any response from him since earlier. It wasn't that he wanted to prolong the conversation to hear more from his wife; it was simply because Xavier was now focused on saving and not losing the files he was working on.

Xavier had made it clear that his work was far more important than anything, including his wife. Elnora hesitated; her face showed a high level of confidence, thinking that Xavier must be restraining himself to prevent her from leaving.

"I've said it before, all of this is serious from my heart. I want to separate from you. Besides, what's so difficult about signing the divorce papers and then it's all over? We no longer have any relationship."

Elnora argued, her chin lifting higher, indicating her arrogance. Meanwhile, Xavier, hearing this, didn't shift his gaze towards Elnora at all.

After ensuring that the data in a file on his laptop was safely stored, Xavier turned off the laptop, closed it, and stowed it in his work bag. Without uttering a word, Xavier took the pen that always hung in the pocket of his shirt.

No! The sound of the pen's tip being pressed by Xavier to release its ink.

He then opened the folder in front of him, placing his signature right above the text explaining his name. Without any burden, Xavier immediately signed the divorce document between him and Elnora.

As much as possible, Elnora hid her surprised expression, knowing that without her saying anything, Xavier already knew that his ex-wife wouldn't expect his reaction.

However, on the other hand, Elnora certainly felt unparalleled happiness because she was now free. It meant Elnora could freely find another man whom she considered more perfect and could fulfill her needs even more than Xavier.

However, Elnora felt unsatisfied when Xavier didn't show any expression regarding the divorce she initiated. Despite that, Elnora was genuinely happy.

All the defenses of that happiness were momentarily set aside when a question came out of Xavier's mouth.

"Done, right? Is there anything else I need to sign? There are many more important matters I have to attend to."

Xavier raised an eyebrow when looking at Elnora. Elnora shook her head, not knowing what it meant. One thing was certain: Xavier could only say he truly felt happy and didn't feel any sadness when realizing that he was no longer her husband.

Elnora's frozen silence made Xavier roll his eyes, feeling it would be a waste of time if he stayed there any longer. Xavier immediately packed up his laptop and important work documents, carrying his belongings, and intending to go to the room he used to share with the woman in front of him.

There was no other purpose for Xavier when going to his room; he just wanted to take his belongings and leave that house. According to him, there was no point in staying there any longer. He needed a new atmosphere and a freedom-filled environment much more comfortable than his current home.

Before going to his room, Xavier seemed to crack a smile when he noticed Elnora's tense face. After building their marriage for a long time, Xavier surprisingly agreed with Elnora's decision.

"I can only say, I hope you are happy with your decision. One thing you must remember, you won't gain anything when you don't appreciate what you already have."

Xavier said with a cold and piercing tone. Without further explanation, he left Elnora alone in her confusion. Many opinions tried to make sense of the meaning of her ex-husband's words.

Meanwhile, Xavier now seemed to walk leisurely towards his room.

Swear to anything, there was not a trace of sadness or disappointment in his heart. Not even a hint.

Xavier opened the door to his room slowly. The shadows of their togetherness and the silent witness of the room about his relationship with his wife couldn't even cross his mind.

He seemed to have never known Elnora. He felt completely normal when the divorce sentence was thrown at him.

Then Xavier took the largest suitcase in a dark brown color. It was indeed his suitcase, so it wasn't surprising that he took it. Xavier placed the suitcase at the edge of his bed, opening it wide to accommodate his belongings.

Starting from shirts, casual clothes, to the blanket that belonged to him, all were lifted and placed by Xavier into his suitcase.

After arranging all his belongings, Xavier then closed the suitcase. Xavier lowered the suitcase to the floor; it was quite heavy because of his numerous belongings.

Xavier then walked towards one of the drawers near the TV in his room. Not forgetting, he had locked his room tightly before doing that.

Not without reason, he did that, but because there was something Xavier had to take, which was indeed his property but had never been known by Elnora all this time.

Xavier had intended to tell his wife if he was really sure that Elnora was the right person. But apparently, all of that was wrong.

Fortunately, none of it had happened because Xavier's instincts were never wrong.

A material clicked when Xavier pressed one of the buttons on his watch. The back of the nightstand drawer opened. The nightstand stood alone, small enough, usually only used to place unimportant sheets, and on top of it, there were only flower decorations.

A small silver-colored object lay there. Not to forget, a card was also dated inside the drawer.

Xavier took the two objects and immediately put them in the pocket of his shirt.

The man curled a crescent moon-like line at the corner of his lips. He felt so happy about the achievement he had just obtained.

Ding!

Xavier reached into his pants pocket, reading the message that appeared on the notification screen on his phone.

[We have been waiting for you, Sir.]

Xavier grinned when he saw the message containing those 4 words.

With full confidence, Xavier then exited his room, dragging the suitcase containing all his belongings.

Xavier stopped for a moment when he realized there was a gaze directed towards him.

The gaze was so fixed, as if it didn't want to leave him. Intentionally, Xavier then returned the gaze.

Elnora seemed surprised when Xavier stared at her. Whatever it was, she then stepped towards him.

"Go, don't take anything from here. You came here empty-handed, so leave empty-handed," Elnora said arrogantly.

The man just gave his flat gaze to Elnora. Not a single word came out of his mouth; everything was silent, and only the man's eyes represented everything.

After giving Elnora a gaze that was difficult to interpret, the man then released the suitcase in his hand before deciding to quickly leave the house.
