It has been days since Abbie was abducted, and she has not yet got over to the fact that she barely remembered what happened to her during those hours. Until now, she was still jumpy and a little paranoid about black cars and suspicious men, even in public places.

For now, the safest for Abbie is her workplace, which comprises many journalists and reporters. She thought those people wouldn’t do anything in front of many reporters.

She was absorbed in her work when one of her co-workers, Shane, rolled her swivel chair towards Abbie and leaned on the partition that separates their cubicle. Shane was one of the few people in The Sentinel that talks to her. Abbie understands that nobody wants to be friends with someone who published articles online recklessly. They don’t want the dangers that accompany her.

“You know what? I heard talks, Addie.”

Addie was snatched from her current work-in-progress and turned to look at Shane, who has an excited face. She was grinning from ear to ear.
