Simon parked his car in front of the shabby house of the retired police officer who handled the investigation of his mother’s death decades ago. It was a cold case, the investigation lead to a dead end, and no culprit was convicted. They didn’t even have the slightest idea as to who was the true mastermind of that ambush.

It was one of the reasons why his father developed depression. The pointless investigation that lasted years was truly exhausting. Justice was out of their grasp.

Even though they had the money to move the investigation, it was like all traces of evidence were discarded before they could even get hold of it, and one of those is the cameras that captured the ambush. The cameras were broken, and it was only fixed the day after the ambush happened. It was too much of a coincidence, and Simon knew that someone as powerful as the Morellis were manipulating it.
