The Deal

After eating breakfast, Addie cleaned the table and washed the dishes.

Simon, on the other hand, was in the living room, attending to his own wounds. He winced when he ripped the old bandage to replace it with a new one.

“Let me help you.” Addison came from the kitchen and sat beside him.

“No, I can do it alone.” Simon insisted on changing it.

“Of course, I know you can do it, but I want to help you, Salvatorre.”

He glanced at him, and he saw genuine sincerity in her eyes. He let out a sigh and gave her the disinfectant.

They were silent for a few minutes while Addison cleaned his wound. Aside from the wound in his ribcage, Simon also endured a few bruises on his face and arms.

Addison didn’t ask Simon what happened to him, but Addison was about to ask it.

“Your friend, the one who brought me here. Where is he?” Simon started.

Addison was just finishing cleaning his wound. She looked up at him and her eyes went back to his wound before she answered.
