Damien sat in his desk, leg crossed and a finger under his chin. His office, which used to be crowded with his own men, was now barren— with only six of his best men left who were not deployed during his debut in the company.

Ash was standing along with these men, a few bandages on her neck and arm. She looked at Damien who had been staring at his smartphone for nearly twenty minutes. Ash grabbed the phone from his hands, causing Damien’s attention to shift.

“Did you call us here to stand and watch you stare at nothing?” she raised an eyebrow at him, from which Damien quickly pulled his gaze away.

The male sighed, then shrugged. “No. Of course not.”

“We’ve got enemies to handle. Lord Blackwell’s death should be avenged.”

“I know.” Damien looked at Ash with worry and sighed once again. “Of course, I know that, Ash.”

“Then what are we waiting for here?” she stepped in front of him, her eyes holding nothing but all the bitterness in the world. “I’ll kill them all!”
