Chapter 141

It turns out that Maeve listened to the discussion that Chloe and Luke had because since then, she's been giving Chloe the cold shoulder.

Things were so bad that Maeve stopped making meals for her any longer. Her responses were one word and anything more than that had to be pried out of her.

It was quite a nightmare but Chloe refused to go back on her stand. The truth, no matter how painful it was to hear is that she would never love Luke the way she loved Sean, so it was better to put him out of his misery since they were about to go public regardless.

The banging at the door made her jolt, spilling lukewarm tea on her sweater. Cursing under her breath, she reached for paper towels to clean them up before they could soil her clothes. The banging came again, making her hurry towards the door.

“Who is it?” She called out.

“It's, me, Maeve! Open the door!” Maeve’s terrified voice yelled back.
