Chapter 59

Two years ago in the heavily populated city of Mardaque.

The sun was shining bright and its heat was radiating outwards into a bright day. People were under their umbrellas, and even a small movement could make anyone sweat. But despite the hot summer weather, people were still on the streets, doing their best to feed themselves and their families.

And in a dark and secluded alley, a young man suddenly woke up. He squinted his eyes and grunted loudly as he pulled himself to sit up. He looked around and he grimaced when he noticed where he was, in a filthy place where garbage were thrown.

“Where the hell am I?” he asked while looking around, his eyes were still squinting and all he could hear was people shouting and blaring horns of cars. “I was killed. Is this hell?”

“I also wished I woke up there,” said the female voice.
