Chapter 4

SYSTEM : "TAKE THE $1,000,000 IN YOUR ACCOUNT AND SPEND IT IN 3 DAYS."

Just like that there are no other options. But was this real, or was it just Marcell's dream.

"Who are you, what are you?" asked Marcell softly. It felt strange because the system's voice came out of his own head. What and who was Marcell actually talking to?

But Hermes system did not answer Marcell's question.

Would something happen if Marcell pressed the "NO" button?

For five minutes Marcell was silent with a stare in front of him, which perhaps if other people were paying attention just stared blankly.

SYSTEM : "Marcell Clark? You have one second left!" Not answering Marcell's question instead the voice inside his head gave a warning.

Making Marcell reluctant to press the "YES" button.

Next the screen rotated to show the loading logo and a second later the check logo was displayed on the screen. Switching again to the text:

SYSTEM : "$1,000,000 HAS BEEN DEPOSITED IN YOUR ACCOUNT. PLEASE COMPLETE THE CHALLENGE TO GET THE BONUS!!!"

Just as quickly, the text disappeared. The sound of a switch being turned off was heard as the system screen disappeared from Marcell's view.

Marcell held his head, which felt dizzy as if it had been hit by hundreds of barbells. It hurt so much that he groaned violently. The nurse who accidentally passed by his room then entered and pressed the emergency button to call a doctor.

When the doctor arrived, the dizziness suddenly disappeared. Marcell fell silent with both hands still holding his head. He realized that the dizziness had disappeared.

Once the doctor finished examining and telling what effects Marcell would get from being hit by the barbell, the doctor left with the nurse.

Marcell scooped up his face in frustration still imagining the real illusion of the transparent screen.

But hesitantly his hand picked up the cell phone on the nightstand and opened mobile banking. With a trembling hand, he touched the password number to log into his account.

Loading the log in felt long even though it was actually only 5 seconds. Without further ado Marcell's hand touched the view balance icon and how surprised he was.

"OONE.. OONEE... ONE MILLION DOLLARS!!!!!"

Marcell covered his mouth surprised by his own loud voice.

Even for working for five years Marcell's savings had not reached this figure. His mind began to think about what had happened, where this money had come from. When he checked the mutations, there was no sender's name and no mutations listed. But strangely the one million dollar balance suddenly appeared in his account.

To prove whether this was real money or just an edited number from hackers, Marcell immediately removed the IV in his hand and went to the nearest ATM.

Marcell tried to withdraw his money. Before that, the man had first checked the condition right and left. This was indeed his money but he himself was suspicious of the origin of this money.

First, Marcell withdrew the amount of 600 dollars first. Exceeding the initial balance of his savings which was only 500 dollars. Slowly the money came out of the machine in turn. Marcell counted the amount and it was exactly 600 dollars.

Marcell checked the balance in the account again. There are still 999,900 dollars left. Oh my!!!

Thank God, Marcell became a rich man.

Marcell returned to the hospital to complete the administration. Actually, the doctor had not allowed him to go home, but there were urgent matters that Marcell had to complete.

Mike from nowhere approached Marcell who was standing in front of the administration desk.

"Hey, are you awake? How are you?" asked Mike worried and couldn't believe what he saw. Indeed, at first Mike found Marcell in a terrible state. But now the man looked fit with legs that could support his body.

Marcell turned his head and showed a questioning look.

"I'm Mike, the cleaning service at Yale University. I brought you here this morning. Your head is bleeding a lot. Don't you have a headache?" Mike introduced himself.

"Ahh thanks Mike, I'm Marcell. My head still feels dizzy. But I have to go right now. I have something to do."

"Are you sure? Don't go to work yet. You'll pass out again."

Marcell nodded. "Thanks for worrying about me. Here, write down your number." Marcell gave Mike his cell phone so he could give him his contact information.

When he was done Mike gave Marcell his phone back.

"I'll get back to you next time, but for now I have to go and see you later Mike." Marcell walked away before Mike could reply. The cafe and bar had contacted him earlier because Marcell was absent from work. The man then told them what happened to him and they wished Marcell a speedy recovery.

Marcell also said that he couldn't work anymore. Marcell chose to leave because he had to complete his mission.

It was now 3am. And Marcell agreed to the challenge at 1am this morning. By this time Marcell had already determined where he wanted to direct his money. But Marcell chose to go home first to rest and take a nap until 8am.

Early in the morning Marcell was ready, dressed neatly. This morning before going to bed he had looked for the fastest airplane ticket this morning. Marcell has decided to move to England. He will look for an apartment there. Enroll in Oxford University. And looking for a large land in the middle of the city to be used as an asset investment.

But everything was not as smooth as Marcell had planned. After arriving in the United Kingdom, the administration was long. Now it was indeed the opening of new students and not as easy as Marcell imagined. Marcell spent 6 hours in Oxford for all the requirements. Actually, Marcell also had to go back to New Haven for all his files.

But time kept spinning so Marcell immediately called the marketing number of the apartment around Oxford. Once again, it's not as easy as buying fried chicken at McD. All there is a flow and approval of files from several sides of the party.

While Marcell only negotiated and looked at the unit first. But there wasn't much time and Marcell needed someone to find him land and take care of the paperwork.

"Do you have an acquaintance who sells land here in the city?" Marcell asked when he met the apartment marketing team. His name was Alan, he was 6 years older than Marcell.

"Hmm... do you need land too?" asked Alan.

Marcell nodded. "I need it as soon as possible, and someone who can take care of the paperwork."

Alan nodded. "Many apartments are already full. Rich people like to spend their money these days. Do you want a house?" Alan offered.

"I live alone, a house is too big for me."

"A minimalist house in a new housing estate?"

Marcell looked thoughtful. "How much?"

Then Alan pulled out another tab. It turned out that Alan was also a realtor in other properties. Alan explained the location, area, price, facilities and so on.

Marcell just had to point and Alan would take care of all the paperwork.

"You'll be able to move in in a week at the most," Alan said when Marcell had a deal with one of the houses in the new neighborhood.

"That's too long, I only have until tomorrow."

Alan seemed to think again. As a realtor, of course he couldn't just let his potential customers go. "Do you want to buy an apartment?

"That's what I was looking for."

"But this one has a more fantastic price," Alan reminded.

"Why is that? What are the advantages?" asked Marcell not wanting to be rash.

"This apartment is very spacious and is actually for rent. But I heard the property owner is about to go bankrupt and the unit could be sold." Alan swiped his tab screen and told us the apartment he was offering. It was larger than the unit Alan had shown earlier, fully furnished and the building systematically matched Marcell's.

"How much should I pay?" asked Marcell.
