Tears streamed down Mia's face, her pain palpable. "You don’t understand, Richard. What we have... it was never supposed to happen." She pulled away from him, wiping her tears as if trying to steady herself. "I was trained to be emotionless, to kill, to survive, but I wasn’t prepared for this... for you."
