A thief

“Please, brother, I do need your help. Please help me,” a young man with handsome features said while kneeling in front of another.

“Why should I ever do anything for you? All you do is to depend on my family's wealth, and now you are asking for more favors?” Micheal replied with disdain in his eyes.

“That's exactly why I want to get a job. I would like to help this family and also help my wife. Please do something.” Eric, the young man, kept begging.

“Do something? Why should I care? You are a man, so go out there and seek employment.” Michael sneered.

“Please, with your connections, I am sure I could get the job easily. You have to help me.” Eric replied.

He had been the son-in-law of the family with no penny attached to his name. Today, he came to beg his brother-in-law for a job connection so everyone would stop seeing him as a freeloader in the family.

Several times he had tried different companies seeking a job, but each time he was bundled out. Everyone saw him as a curse that would bring bad luck to the company, so nobody dared to employ him. To them, even the cleaner job was too good for him.

Seeing that Micheal didn't agree to all the pleas, Eric decided to beg further, as he wasn't ready to let go of the opportunity.

“I will do anything you say, anything. I promise.” Eric begged.

“Anything?” Micheal's eyes glinted with excitement.

“Yes, anything.” Eric nodded quickly.

Micheal's lips curled into a smirk, and he stood up from sitting. What he enjoyed most was bullying Eric, and in times like this, he wanted more.

“Bark! Bark like a dog.” Micheal said with sarcasm in his voice.

“Huh?” Eric asked, unsure of what he just heard.

"I said bark like a dog, then I might help you. Don't waste my time!” Micheal replied, looking serious. “Or don't you want the job?” Michael taunted further.

“I do! I do.” Eric said quickly. Even though he hated the condition, it wasn't like he could do anything to change it. What might come next would be worse than this, so he could only give in.

Woo! Woo! Woo!

Eric quickly started barking, surprising everyone. The maids who were watching shook their heads in disgust as they watched him. Now they realized he had no worth, even a single bit of it.

On the other hand, Micheal started chuckling.

“You are barking?” he said mockingly.

“You asked me to,” Eric replied.

“Okay fine. I will help you but under one condition. You will go on a shopping spree with me to get some clothes for my fiancé.” Micheal said.

Hearing that, Eric smiled wholeheartedly. At least his dreams would come true. Escorting Micheal was such a small deal to him, so he nodded.

“Yes. I'll go with you.” Eric nodded his head like a lost puppy.

“Follow me,” Micheal said and hurriedly walked out of the villa. Eric also followed him, and they hopped into his BWM and drove out of the house.

After a while, they arrived at a shopping mall. The view was so exquisite that Eric's mouth almost fell off.

“Star Crest shopping mall?” He gasped. The mall was known to have the most expensive fittings in the whole city. A dress here wouldn't cost less than five hundred thousand dollars.

Most of their clothes were Chanel. One of the most expensive brands in the world. The building on its own was made from glass, exposing all the dressing inside. The security here was top-notch, and not only that but going in there felt like going to heaven.

“Are you coming or not?” Michael was irritated by this.

“Yes! Yes!” Eric quickly followed him, and they reached for the entrance. The security at the entrance quickly paved the way for Micheal after seeing how expensive he was looking since he looked like someone who could afford a dress. They were no fool to skip welcoming such customers.

“Welcome sir.” They greeted excitedly while he waved his hand at them before walking in.

By the time Eric came forward, seeing how dressed he was, quickly made them block the way. Disdain was written on their faces as they stared at him.

“The trash can is that way.” One of them pointed at a spot outside the mall.

“Sorry, I am here on a shopping spree with my brother-in-law. He was the one who just got in.” Eric replied quickly and wanted to charge in when one of them slapped him.

Pak!

“Do we look like we welcome jokes here? Just look at you, what can you afford here?” the one who slapped him mocked.

“Just look how he is dressed. Even if we had an item for fifty dollars, I am sure he couldn't afford it. Get lost now, or we make you!” The other security sparked.

“But I am with…”

“Shut your twerp asshole and leave this place!” The security replied.

“Ooh, wait, he is with me. Let him in.” Micheal hurriedly came after seeing Eric was almost beaten into a pulp.

“He is with you?” The guard looked at Eric from head to toe before letting him in. If Michael hadn't come, they were ready to use a forceful means to get Eric out of the place, even if it involved breaking a few bones.

“Thank you, brother. You are so kind.” Eric smiled as he followed him, but the lad didn't say anything. They walked deeper into the mall and arrived at a roll where some clothes had been nicely packed into a bag.

“I have selected these clothes. You can take them to the car.” Micheal smiled.

“You have paid for them?” Eric asked to be certain.

“Yes of course. I want to check a few more things. Just take these out.” Micheal assured.

Without saying more, Eric happily packed the bag and quickly walked towards the door. He was careful so he wouldn't drop anyone in the process. Some people were even laughing at how fast he was walking until he was out of the entrance.

Then all of a sudden there were screeching wheels all over the place while sirens were ringing in the air. Eric was startled at this and froze. Rolls of police cars suddenly appeared, blocking his path.

“Hands above your head! You are arrested for stealing.” One of the policemen said.
