AT THE DINNING TABLE.

What was really going on?

"Amber, why don't you come with us?" Aunt Matilda asked. Mrs Laurette rolled her eyes in annoyance.

"Uhh, I haven't finished cooking yet, when I've finished I'll come up to your room," Amber pretended to smile. At least that was what Mrs Laurette thought.

AT THE DINING TABLE.

"Matilda, you haven't seen Nathan since you got back and you haven't asked him yet?" Mr Cooper asked.

"Dad, it's not like he's run away or anything, I'm sure he'll come back from wherever he went," Aunt Matilda took a sip of her hot chocolate tea.

"You haven't changed at all," Mr Oliver muttered.

"Well, you haven't changed a bit either, still meddling in people's affairs," Aunt Matilda teased, they all laughed, everyone except Mrs Laurette, who rolled her eyes at almost everything Aunt Matilda said.

The room fell silent for a few seconds, everyone's eyes fixed on their food as they scooped, drank and ate.
