"But..." Wayne hung up without letting her finish.

"I don't know why he's always such an asshole," Amber sighed.

Within a few minutes, Amber's phone started ringing and she excitedly answered it, not even knowing who the caller was. Apparently she thought it was Wayne who had decided to call her back.

"Hello," she said with a broad smile on her lips, but her smile was suddenly replaced by a frown when she heard a woman's voice.

"Hello my little girl, how are you?" Amber glanced at her phone, it was her supposed mother, Aunt Matilda.

"I'm fine, hello," Amber mumbled.

"Are you sure you're all right? you don't sound all right,"

" I'm fine, thank you," Amber said.

"OK, that's good to hear, how are you feeling now? I heard you got shot, that bastard had the guts to hurt my little girl," Aunt Matilda growled and Amber rolled her eyes.

"I'm fine, everything's fine, so let bygones be bygones," Amber said.
