“What the fuck are you doing?” Chris glared at the tackily dressed man and swiftly, he took the man’s hand off him, throwing him off to another side. It was so easy for Chris to throw him off like he weighed nothing.
“How dare you touch me!” The man was annoyed that he was easily tackled and he went for Chris again, aiming to throw a punch. However, Chris was quick to dodge making the crazy man punch the air.
“You are testing my patience.” Chris was growing furious. He was still trying to be civil because he had somewhere to go and he didn’t want to embarrass himself in a public space but this crazy man wasn’t about to let him go.
“And what the fuck are you going to do? Huh? Do you know who I am?” The man pointed a finger at Chris with a condescending gaze, “I am Bastien, haven’t you heard of that name around here before?”
Chris’s patience was wearing thin, he was past the time when he would let people bully him and now that he had his father’s backing, he was fearless. In the next second, he caught the Bastien’s finger and bent it.
“Ahhhh!!” Bastien screamed, feeling pain shooting through his arm, but he couldn’t even free himself from Chris’s grip.
“Now, I do not care what you call yourself.” Chris sneered and then continued, “But if you cross me one more time, you won’t see the end of this.” he warned and swiftly, he let go of Bastien who staggered due to the sudden lack of balance.
Chris turned to walk away, hoping this was the end of it but on the other hand, Bastien wasn’t done. He rushed back to his Ferrari and took out a baseball bat from the trunk.
“Hey, you, kid!” Bastien called out to Chris who was approaching the elevator as he swung the bat in his hand. “Watch how I teach you a lesson.”
Before Chris’s very eyes, Bastien rushed toward his 200k dollars VW car and swung the bat at it.
Bang!
The car’s windows crashed, and the glass shards scattered all over the floor.
Bang!!
Next was the car’s body as Bastien left dents on the car with a victorious and wicked smile on his face. He was proud of his work.
“What the fuck!” Chris covered his mouth in shock, realizing that this man was crazier than he thought. The car was badly damaged and he vowed not to let Bastien go scot-free.
He took out his phone and put a call across to the butler, Steve but at the same time, Bastien climbed the car and started to jump on it like he was a kid.
“What’s so special about your car?” Bastien yelled at Chris who was still looking in horror. “It’s just an old Volkswagen car and I can get ten of it if I want to,” He yelled, laughing out loud.
His laughter boomed throughout the parking lot and the commotion attracted other car owners present.
“Sir, you are causing a nuisance, get down from the car or we will call the police.” A man stepped forward as he had been watching the commotion since it started. He silently commended Chris for being so calm.
“And what if I don’t?” Bastien jumped off the car and even swung the bat at the man making him flinch. Chris came forward and dragged the man backward, so he wouldn’t be hurt. He didn't want any other person to get involved with Bastien
He had been far away earlier but now that he saw the car clearly, he gasped, “Isn't this the famous VW Phaeton? This car alone is worth $200,000!”
Chris was surprised that someone else knew the worth of the car even though it was plain looking, “You know this car?”
“Yes, I do.” The man nodded at Chris. “You are the owner, right? And you let him damage it?”
Bastien heard this and he wondered if they were telling the truth or not. His own car was just a second-hand car worth $100k. How could such a young poor-looking boy own such a car? He couldn’t believe it!
And before Chris could speak, Bastien yelled, “Stop lying!” He swung the bat at the man dangerously. “What is so special about that plain car?! It shouldn't even be seen on the streets and now I have done justice to it.”
“Shut the fuck up!” The man fired at Bastien with an irritated look. “You look so classless and though I am not surprised that you are dumb, you are a grown man, can’t you see how sleek that car is? Is your tacky yellow-colored Ferrari as elegant as this car you damaged?”
“What are you saying?” Bastien sneered, looking back at the VW car. His mind was starting to tell him that he might have made a mistake. When he saw the car at first, it looked plain but now that he saw that he saw the car’s interior, he realized that he may have been wrong.
However, he wasn’t ready to lose face, “What do you even know about cars?”
“Haha…” the man suddenly laughed out loud. He dipped his hand into his pocket and took out a business card. He threw it directly at Bastien, “Look at that! I am an auto insurance expert and I have dealt with many luxury cars. This VW car will buy your tacky Ferrari twice!”
“What?” Bastien held onto the business card shakily, his eyes going wide in horror. He realized he had damaged a 200 thousand dollar car while he had scraped, scammed, and saved to get his Ferrari.
At the same time, five cars drove into the parked in the parking lot. Five men from each car stepped out and their presence filled the parking lot. Dressed in black suits, their steps echoed in the parking lot as they marched out and surrounded Bastien who already looked terrified.
“Who… who are these?” Bastien stuttered.
This time, Chris stepped forward with a menacing look, “Do you really want to find out?”
Bastien swallowed a big lump in his throat seeing the menacing look in Chris’s eyes. He took several steps back, and said shakily, “Don’t scare me, little boy.”However, his back hit one of the men in black and he staggered to the side. “Hey! Apologize!” He snarled but then the man didn't even spare him a glance as he walked up to meet Chris. He seemed to be the boss and he bowed before Chris, “Hello, Young Master Chris. I hope we didn't delay for too long.”“Nahh… it’s alright.” Chris waved his hand in dismissal. “What’s your name?”“Mason, young master.” Mason straightened up and then his eyes zeroed in on Bastien who had his mouth gaped in shock. “How do you want us to punish the man who offended the heir of the Westminster family, young master?” “What?” Bastien let out in shock and not only was he shocked, but the car insurance expert was also shocked. “Little kid! Don't tell me you are the heir of the Westminster family. The owner of the biggest consortium in the country?” Th
“What are you saying?” Chris felt a burst of anger and he frowned, displeased. “I am not a beggar and don’t look like one. You are the one who shouldn’t be in this store since you can’t be respectful to other buyers.”The rush from his encounter with Bastien was still registered in his mind and he wouldn't let another person try to insult him again. “You!” Mrs. Wales was shocked that he talked back at her. “You dare to talk back? You dare talk to me about respect?” She shouted, and even pointed her fingers, poking Chris in the head.“Can you see anyone dressed like you in here? Is this someplace where you can walk into just as you please?” Her pokes moved from his head to his chest as she almost dug her sharp nails into his flesh.Even the female attendant, did a double take at Chris to really see if he was dressed as a beggar, and to her, it was kind of true.“Get your hands off me.” Chris took a step back, slapping her wrist away from his sight.“And what if I don’t?” Mrs. Wales st
“Honey, you are here.” Mrs. Wales, ran toward the burly man, looking all coy, different from her arrogant self. She hugged her husband, swooning like an earthworm with her body glued to his. She didn't even care that she was in a public space! However, the husband loved it. It only took a few whispers into his ears and an angry look formed on his face. “Who dares to bully you, my wife?” The husband thundered and before Mrs. Wales could answer, Bella walked forward warily.“Hello, Mr. Gareth, it’s good to see you here.” Bella tried to be respectful to tone down the situation. Gareth took one look at Bella and glared at her arrogantly, “Did you bully my wife? I am sure you know who she is, right?”“Oh, she is your wife—”“Yes, I am!” Mrs. Wales cut her off, looking so proud. “Honey, this ordinary store manager insulted and bullied me. She didn’t even apologize to me and even dared to support that beggar over me. And that poor man over there dares to disrespect me.” She pointed at Chri
Gareth’s head was down low and all he could see was his boss’ shiny shoes. A proud man a while ago was now bowing like a dog. However, his boss didn't even pay any heed to his greetings. He walked past Gareth and went to stand before Chris. “Kid, can I see that badge again?” He asked. Chris looked from the man to the gold badge. His father had told him this could be used anywhere to declare his family status, had someone finally recognized the badge?“First, tell me who you are.” Chris didn't show the badge to him. He wanted to be sure this man was a really sensible person, or else he ran the risk of being embarrassed again about his badge. “Oh, my bad.” The dignified man chuckled. “I am Alexander McQueen, owner of the McQueen brand. I own this mall. I used to work with the Westminster family and I know that badge.” “Oh, really?” Chris raised his brows, he was impressed. At least, this man knew about the Westminster badge. He looked trustworthy enough. “Yes. I would like to take
Gareth and his wife were dragged away, leaving the atmosphere tense and overwhelmed. The onlookers were wowed and unexpectedly, they burst into a round of applause. “Wow… look at him. He is so cool.” “I wish to be the heir of the Westminster family too. Imagine how much money he has.” Listening to their words, Chris felt proud but he didn't let those words get into his head too much. He wanted to go back to his main purpose of visiting the mall. The applause came to an end and everyone dispersed. “Can I shop for the things I want now?” He asked Alexander. “Yeah… sure. But you don’t need to worry. You will be taken to the VIP section and everything you need will be brought to you.” Alexander suggested. “That will work.” Chris nodded. Alexander started to lead Chris toward the top floor of the mall. But then Bella Shaw stepped forward, pulling the edge of his clothes. “Thank you for not letting me get fired.” She whispered. “It's nothing. You didn't do anything wrong in the fi
“You shithead! Where are you? Aren't you coming anymore?” Mia’s worried voice rang through Chris’ phone. She had been calling him nonstop thinking he wasn't going to attend her party. Chris's expression softened and he smiled, “Don’t worry. I am here.” He looked out of the window to see that he was at the venue already. “Quick! Hurry in! I am so tired of these obnoxious people around me.” She said and ended the call. Chris let out a sigh knowing she was referring to the second-generation rich heirs she invited to the party. He knew how obnoxious they could be and he also didn't want to get involved with them. He got out of his car in the parking lot and took the elevator to the floor where the party was happening. As soon as he got in, he spotted Mia who was at the forefront of the decorated hall with a few friends. He smiled a bit seeing her so happy and he was about to walk toward her when he received a tap on his shoulder. He turned around to see Reid and Ren, the arrogant bas
Chris walked with Mia, hand in hand toward her table. He was quite happy that Mia stood up for him. She was also a second-generation rich heir but she was so humble and kind and didn't discriminate against him when he was a poor cleaner. As they passed by the guests, they all looked at him in awe and he could hear how they were proud he beat up Reid, especially.“I heard what happened today. I am sorry I couldn't come see you at the police station. I heard about it at my party.” She said. Chris had no problem with it. After such an unfortunate event, a lot of goodies came out. So he was quite cool. “Also, I am happy you punched that bastard…” Mia continued and then whispered, “And that cheating bitch. I warned you about her.” She was talking about Melissa.“Turns out you were right. Melissa’s case is closed, Mia. I don't want her anywhere near me.” Chris realized that he had not even thought about or processed his breakup with Melissa. It was just a gust of wind that blew away so q
“No…” Chris shook his head. “I don’t care whether you think I am wearing a fake or not. I have nothing to prove to you.”“Now, get lost.” Chris pushed Shantel’s hand away and was about to leave but Ria quickly stood in his way. “But I care,” Ria said, folding her hands. She stared down at him, her stance looked intimidating. “And who are you?” He asked, looking straight at her. Ria was quite surprised he wasn't intimidated by her and she felt even more intrigued. “I am Ria McQueen. Alexander, the owner of the Queen’s brand is my brother.” She introduced herself, proudly. “Ohh…” Chris chuckled. He realized why she was so concerned about his clothes. “I just need to check your sleeves to know whether your clothes are fake or not. If they are, I am going to personally sue you for soiling my brother’s brand.” Ria declared, her eyes flashing with a wicked glint. “Yes! Sue him!” Shantel had not gotten over the embarrassment she was facing from both Ria and Chris and she wanted nothing
Ten hours later…Chris opened his eyes, slowly at first but then what came into his view was a white ceiling, and then a wide unfamiliar bedroom. Beneath was a soft wide bed but then he was sure he wasn't in the Westminster mansion. As he turned his head to look all around, he couldn't place where he was and the memories from the school’s rooftop started to resurface in his mind. The last thing he remembered was pushing Jose off Mia and then he was hit in the head. As soon as he recalled all that, his heartbeat spiked up and he jolted up from the bed. “Mia…” He called out, breathing heavily as his eyes started to dim again due to the force he used in getting up. He felt his head to see there were bandages around his head and a searing pain shot from the back of his head. At the same time, the door was pushed open with so much force and Ria came rushing in, with a frightened look on her face. “You are awake. Are you okay?” Ria asked, rushing to his bedside. Chris was very confused
Chris took a deep breath, he looked all around his bedroom, knowing it was late at night and butler Steve would not be in support of him stepping out. However, Mia was in danger and he couldn't let it be. “Are you still there?” Reid’s voice rang out again. “Or are you scared?” He chuckled. “Do you want to see your dear friend?…do you want to see her beautiful battered face?” This time, it was Ren talking, his mocking voice sounded like stale music to Chris’ ears. At the same time, his phone rang and he saw that he received a message from Reid. It was a picture of Mia lying almost naked on the rooftop, with her face bloodied. Her eyes looked into the camera, pleading. Chris held onto his phone, almost crushing it with his grip, and with his eyes red, he looked like he was going crazy. And yes, he was. He was hurt for his friend.“Where the fuck are you guys?” Chris spat into his phone, his body churning with energy and all he wanted to do was beat up those boys. “Come to the schoo
Chris went quiet seeing the butler’s resolution, and he was made to step aside as the butler turned to the cops to settle the matter. Soon, they got back into the car and Chris was a little bit angry. “Why are you trying to stop me from helping?” Chris stared at Steve, with a very serious expression. On the other hand, Steve who was behind the steering wheel, ready to start the car let out a tired sigh and then he began, “I have a duty to protect you, especially now that the master has gone on a trip. The police asked you to sign some documents and yet, you didn't stop to think what kind of documents they were.” Chris went silent upon hearing that, there was no defensive mechanism he could come up with at that time. He was indeed wrong. “The Westminster family cannot be involved in any form of scandal especially not with such a bloody case and girl. She is your ex-girlfriend, is she not?” Steve sneered, looking out of the window to the police officers who were still scrambling aro
Chris and the butler silently looked at each other, with Chris staring at Steve with daggers in his eyes. “What do you mean my dad left for a trip and I have to wait until he gets back?” “I mean what it means literally.” Steve shrugged, acting nonchalant. “What about our promise? You and Father promised to tell me what’s up with Mia and now he has absconded. What sick joke is this?” He thundered. At the same time, a few servants had come out to witness the altercation and Steve quickly told Chris to get into the mansion. At first, Chris didn't want to follow his lead but then he wasn't naive to how servants can be so interested in their boss’ business. He followed Steve back into the mansion and they approached Jones’ study. Seeing this, Chris went calm thinking the butler had been playing pranks on him. His father was home after all. A few seconds later, they got into the study but instead of seeing his father behind the large desk, he saw only his father’s suit jacket. “What’
“Why?” Chris asked, frowning. “I have a guest.” He pointed back at his bedroom. If his father wanted to speak to him about something serious, then it had to wait until Mia was gone. “I'm afraid, this is very important and it is about your guest.” The butler replied, putting his hand behind him to show how serious he was. “About Mia?” Chris asked just to be sure and seeing how serious the whole situation was, he followed butler Steve into his father’s study room. A few minutes later, Chris stood before the desk, keeping eye contact with his father who was abnormally quiet. “You sent for me, Dad. Why aren't you speaking?” Chris frowned. “Why do you want to talk about Mia?” “Hmmm…” Jones let out a groan at first, he then closed his eyes and massaged his temples. He looked so stressed and in his mind, he knew he had made a fatal mistake. “Take Mia out of this place.” He instructed. Chris froze for a moment, not knowing what to think. That instruction came out of nowhere with no bas
Mia’s voice was shaky and her chest rose and fell so fast, that she couldn't breathe. “What are you saying, Mia? What shady deal?” Chris questioned with a frown. He didn't like how she was so fearful. He was there to tell her everything and yet, she suddenly started to accuse him. “Tell me what is going on right this instant! Who owns this mansion? What are we here for?” She bombarded him with questions, while she held her chest, trying to breathe. “The mansion belongs to my family,” Chris replied. “Oh, really?” Mia sneered, not believing him in the slightest. “You know what?! I think I am going to call...” She frantically reached for her phone. On the other hand, Chris could already guess who she wanted to call. It could either be her parents or the cops. “Mia, you need to calm down…” He tried to reach out to her but she started to punch her fingers on her phone. In the next second, he took the phone, throwing it into the back seat. “What the fuck did you just do? Are you tryi
Chris and Mia had walked far away and they didn't even go back to class, because the day had practically been ruined for them. As they walked, a lot of students pointed at him and some even came to him to apologize about bashing him on the school forum. By the time they both reached Chris’ car, they were exhausted. “Get in.” He opened his car door and Mia sent a questionable look at him before she got in. He got in the driver’s seat as well. However, he didn't drive away, he had to take a few moments to breathe. “You have a really nice car.” Mia looked all around with a smile. She didn't have a good car like his and even though she was a rich heir, her family had been going through some internal crisis. “Thanks…” He nodded at her and the car turned awkwardly silent while she suddenly looked down at her hands, with an itchy feeling to bombard him with questions. On the other hand, Chris had observed her nervous reaction and he knew she really wanted to say something. “You can say
Mike and Melissa stood back, while she watched Chris leave, Mike watched her. His face was brimming with anger and even long after Chris had left, she still couldn't bring herself to look at Mike. The secluded area became eerily silent as Melissa could neither speak nor move."Aren't you going to break up with me?" Mike finally broke the silence. He was surprisingly calm, even with how he was angry and this made Melissa courageous enough to look at him."What do you think, Mike?" She asked back, finally looking at him. "You heard everything. I don't think you should be in denial.""Are you admitting that you indeed were Chris' girlfriend? Back at the court, where I proposed to you, you denied him." He chuckled, mockingly and then continued. "Now, you are denying me? Before that thing?""I thought Chris was coveting what was mine, but then, it's just that you were something he used to have. You are like his leftover and I took you in...""Don't fucking call me that!" Melissa yelled, he
As Melissa walked out of the class, the students turned their attention to Reid, Ren, and Mike. They looked so embarrassed and Chris went to stand before them.“Make sure you cancel the court summons… and wait for mine.” Chris smiled, his eyes twinkling with venom. Even though he had revealed the truth, he wouldn't let them go just like that. He would sue them for defamation, assault, and also for attempted murder. As soon as he finished speaking, he turned to Mia, took her hand, and led her out of the class. They walked for a few more minutes before they came to a secluded space and they sat down comfortably. “Thank you, Mia,” Chris whispered, looking at her with eyes filled with gratitude. “You always stand up for me, even when you don’t need to. I'll make sure to repay your kindness.” He promised. However, Mia chuckled, “Nah… you don’t need to worry. You are my friend and I should support you always.” She smiled, hugging him from the sides. They continued to make small talk w
