ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTEEN — SURPRISE REUNION

Luke hurriedly made his way to his car and slammed the door. The feeling of heat and suffocation swamped him all of a sudden. Rage shot through his veins as he wrestled to take off his tie.

When he was finally able to take the offending piece of material off, he flung it out the window and it landed on the event centre’s parking lot.

He balled his fingers into fists and forced himself to remain quiet when all he wanted to do was scream the whole world to the ground.

After five full minutes of venting alone, to his surprise, the driver’s door was suddenly pulled open and John climbed into the car.

Luke lowered his head and tried to put himself back together but John only nodded understandably and said;

“Where to, sir? Shall I take you to a place where you can just relax and enjoy some fresh air? The beach, maybe?”

It was on the tip of Luke’s tongue to reject the offer. He had guests to tend to inside after all. Going to the beach would mean abandoning his own wedding party.
