Tasha narrowed her eyes at Eddie, her lips curling in disdain. "So you admit it, huh? You’re just as worthless as you’ve always been. But don’t worry, I’ll make sure you’re thrown out of here in the most humiliating way possible."

Eddie crossed his arms and leaned against the counter, his calm pose a stark contrast to Tasha’s escalating fury. "Oh, really? Let’s make a bet then."

"A bet?" Tasha’s laughter filled the room, dripping with mockery. "What could you possibly offer in a bet, Eddie?"

"It’s simple," Eddie smirked, his confidence catching her off guard. "If I end up being kicked out, I’ll admit defeat. But if I don’t, you’ll leave this lounge and never come back."

The crowd erupted in laughter amidst murmurs, intrigued by Eddie’s boldness.

"Deal!" Tasha snapped, her arrogance overshadowing any possible doubt. "You’re as good as gone!"

"Good luck… I.. I mean success," Eddie said, his tone light as Dorothy returned with a glass of wine.

She handed it to him with a slight bow, her movements respectful.

Eddie took the glass, raised it slightly in a mock toast to Tasha, and took a sip.

Fuming, Tasha stormed out of the lounge, determined to humiliate Eddie at all costs

**********

Minutes passed, and the crowd began to disperse, the spectacle seemingly over as they all returned to their tables.

Eddie waited calmly, not shaken despite the earlier humiliation.

Suddenly, the door burst open, and Tasha returned, her face screaming triumphant.

Behind her was the same armed guard Eddie had seen at the entrance earlier.

"There he is!" Tasha pointed at Eddie with glee. "That’s the intruder. Get rid of him!"

The guard surveyed the room, his imposing figure drawing the attention of the remaining guards.

His deep voice boomed, "Where’s the so-called intruder? Show your face!"

Eddie didn’t turn around, his back still facing the guard. Instead, he took another leisurely sip of his wine.

"That’s him!" Tasha shouted impatiently, pointing again.

The guard strode forward, grabbing Eddie’s shoulder and spinning him around with a rough yank. The moment their eyes met, the guard froze.

"Young master?" The guard’s voice wavered, his demeanor shifting from aggression to panic.

Eddie raised an eyebrow, his smirk widening. "Is there a problem, mister?"

The guard immediately stepped back, bowing deeply. "I’m so sorry, young master! I didn’t know it was you!"

The room fell into stunned silence. Tasha’s triumphant expression evaporated like a thin smoke, replaced with sheer confusion.

"What?" she stammered. "Young master? Him? No, that can’t be…"

Ignoring her, the guard turned to Tasha, his tone cold. "You brought me here to attack the heir to the Aviatux empire? Are you out of your mind?"

Tasha stumbled backward, her face pale. "I… I didn’t know! But he was just…"

"Enough!" the guard barked, cutting her off. "You’ve caused enough trouble. Leave immediately, or I’ll have you thrown out myself."

Eddie leaned back, raising his cup once again, enjoying the turn of events. "Looks like you lost the bet, Tasha. Cheers to being a loser!"

Tasha’s lips trembled, but she couldn’t muster a response. Humiliated, she turned and fled the lounge, the sound of her heels echoing behind her.

Eddie turned to Dorothy, who was trying to suppress a smile. "Bring my rice now, Dorothy. I can't wait any longer."

Dorothy nodded, quickly moving to fulfill the order, while the remaining guards watched Eddie in awe for completely turning the tables around.

In the evening, Eddie couldn't wait to inform Phil about his newfound status and decided to head for the campus.

He happily walked on a quiet road that led to the university, relieving his triumphant win against Tasha in the morning.

"Hmmm, if tables have turned the other way round, only God knows what might have happened." He said to himself, lost in his thoughts that he didn't know when a car pulled up beside him, stopping abruptly.

The door swung open and four rough-looking thugs stepped out. Some had cannabis dangling from their lips as they encircled Eddie.

Entering panic mode, Eddie asked, frowning. "Who are you guys? What do you want?"

One of them blew a cloud of smoke in his face and queried, "You're Eddie Celestial, right?"

Eddie nodded with a raised brow. Yes, I am Eddie. What's wrong?"

Without a word, the man raised his hand, poised to land it on Eddie.

Eddie, without thinking any further, swiftly caught the man's hand and retaliated with blows on his belly.

"What's wrong? Who are you people?" he demanded, frowning.

"Urghh!"

A loud cry escaped the man’s mouth as he spat out blood and saliva, and his blunt fell to the ground.

"You dare hit me!?" He yelled in a loud voice that sounded like a cry.

Still wearing a frown, Eddie retorted, "You were about to punch me, and I…"

Before he could finish speaking, a blow from behind sent him stumbling. Caught off guard, he lost his balance and fell.

The continuous onslaught of kicks from the thugs followed, each blow intensifying the pain.

Weak and pummeled, Eddie winced, his strength draining faster. The thugs battered him relentlessly.

Finally, their leader leaned down to Eddie, his voice a malicious whisper in Eddie's ear. "Let it be the last time you will ever think of laying your hands on Nathan San Roman."

It became evident that Nathan had ordered these men to find him and beat him mercilessly following the previous day's altercation where Eddie hit him.

Eddie coughed up blood, his body trembling from the pain as he struggled to push himself off the ground.

The thugs swiftly retreated to their car and sped away.

His arms gave way, and he collapsed again, the rough tarred road scraping against his palms. He groaned, fumbling to retrieve his cracked phone from his pocket.

With trembling fingers, he dialed Phil’s number, desperation in his voice as he muttered, "Pick up, Phil... Please, pick up..."

But the line didn’t connect. Frustration bubbled inside him, and he let out a hoarse yell, "Why won’t you answer?!"

His vision blurred, darkness creeping in at the edges. His strength waned, and he felt the world go upside down around him before losing consciousness.

Moments later, the soft hum of a car engine filled the quiet street.

An expensive Rolls-Royce, sleek and gleaming in the dim evening light, came to a halt beside Eddie’s limp body.

The door opened, and Skarr stepped out, his tall, imposing frame casting a shadow over Eddie.

Two guards followed him, their movements sharp and precise as they stepped out of the car.

Skarr crouched down, inspecting Eddie’s battered form.

He shook his head, his expression a mix of frustration and regret. "We shouldn’t have let him leave the hotel alone. This is exactly what Sir Damien was worried about."

He stood, gesturing to his guards. "Pick him up. Be careful."

The guards nodded, lifting Eddie’s unconscious body with practiced ease.

They carried him into the backseat of the Rolls-Royce, ensuring he was positioned comfortably despite his injuries.

Skarr climbed into the passenger seat, his gaze fixed on Eddie for a moment before he ordered the driver, "Drive home. Quickly."
