Eddie stepped out of the room and was surprised to see the four men still standing outside the door, who all turned to face him.
To his amazement, each of them bowed respectfully to him as if he was royalty. He felt a little bit awkward and didn't know the best way to respond but he just managed a nod of acknowledgement. The men, including Skarr all remained motionless and silent until he had walked into the elevator. Eddie walked out of the elevator and spotted a door with the word "Exclusive Lounge" boldly written at the entrance top. A man, armed with a rifle, was at the door, his gaze fixed on nothing. Considering that the armed guard might embarrass him, Eddie thought about returning to his father's office. As he turned around to leave, the guard called out, bowing. "You may proceed to come in, young master. You have the right to every corner of this building." Eddie swallowed hard as he turned around, trying to comprehend if this was his new reality. He was no longer the poor orphaned student! "Thank you," Eddie managed a smile as he went into the lounge. The lounge was not of much difference from the ones he'd seen in American movies. The plush two-seater sofas, the round glass dining tables, and the notable well-dressed individuals occupying them. "Woah!" What amazed Eddie the most was the dining set up at the end of the room. A neon glowing chandelier hung comfortably above two plush sofas that sat on either side of a pure gold plated table. Neon Italian marble floors spread to every end of the glass projected space. Eddie was flabbergasted at the royalty vibes the enclosure was screaming. He also noticed none of the customers were allowed entry into the space as two stern-faced armed guards were situated at the entrance. "It's obvious only Dad is allowed to use that private area. Will I ever reach Dad’s influence level?" Eddie thought to himself, while also admiring his father's influential status. "Rumble!" Eddie's belly quickly snapped him out of his daydreaming as he walked swiftly to the reception counter. The waiter at the counter appeared to be busy arranging the drinks on the shelves as her back was facing Eddie. "Hi, Ms. Receptionist." Eddie greeted, his fingers drumming against the counter desk. "What do you want," The waiter retorted, her back still facing Eddie. Eddie was taken aback at the waiter's blunt reply but the hunger in him made him look over it. "Ermmm…Ms," he stammered. "Do you have Kinemai premium rice?" "What!?" The waiter hissed, "You're out of your mind, sir. Are you here to ask what we have or you're here to eat? You can see I'm busy here." Eddie was so offended by the waiter's response that he immediately started to lose his appetite. "Why are you speaking to me in that manner, Ms? Did I offend…." "Will you please shut up and order…." The waiter cut in as she turned back, her heartbeat rate failing consistently. "Young master! I swear with my grandmother's life, I didn't know you were the one. Please forgive me, sir." The waiter immediately went on her knees after recognising Eddie and started pleading with Eddie continuously. As Eddie left Damien's office, Damien had immediately transferred his picture to the staff platform on W******p and followed it with a command that Eddie should be given the precious treatments he, himself has never experienced. Eddie, on the other hand, instead smiled, thinking about how vulnerable but blunt the waiter could be. If he wanted, he could get her sacked at this minute. "Sir, why are you smiling and not saying anything? Please don't make me lose this job, young master." The waiter cried, still on her knees. Eddie shrugged as a smile continued to play in the corner of his lips. "You didn't act like you loved your job, Ms. What's your name?" "Dorothy… sir… D.. Dorothy Keely." The waiter stuttered. "Please sir, I have no other place I can get employed if you decide to fire me. I'm just a single mother of two, forgive my bluntness, young master. I promise to change for the better." "Is that a promise, Ms. Dorothy?" Eddie smirked. "Yes, young master. As from this moment, I promise to be of good character to every customer, whether notable or not." Dorothy pleaded as the smirk on Eddie's face literally killed her, contemplating if Eddie was thinking about sacking her. "You’re forgiven. Get up and let me have what I ordered for," Eddie simply said, his belly’s rumble not helping the situation. "Sir, you've forgiven me!?" Dorothy screamed with appreciation as she got up, straightening her rumpled apron. "Thank you for helping me keep this job, Young master. I will forever be grateful!" "Shhh…., you're raising your voice." Eddie cautioned with a raised brow. "Just get me the rice I asked for but please, pour me a cup of the most expensive wine you've got here." As Dorothy turned her back to get Eddie's order. Eddie immediately heard a familiar voice scream his name. He wanted to look over it at first, but his instincts kept insisting for him to look in the direction his name was being yelled. "Gulp!" Eddie swallowed hard on seeing Tasha, Eunice's best friend and partner in crime. "Damn, why is this lady everywhere I go? I hope she doesn't cause a scene here," Eddie thought to himself and looked away from Tasha, pretending not to see her. "Eddie! Edd, the dirty, poor, orphaned, toilet cleaner boy!" Tasha taunted as she drew closer to Eddie, fantasizing on the ways she could totally turn him into an object of mockery. "Eddie mf! Why did you act as if you're not the one I'm referring to!?" Tasha spat at Eddie's face. "Ohh, you don't want the people here to know your secret?" Eddie hoped he could get Tasha off his sight if he replied to her at least. "What secret, Tasha? Can you please leave me? I mean, forever away from me." "Hahaha…you're tripping, Eddie." Tasha laughed sarcastically. "Don't tell me being cuckolded by your girlfriend has made you grow wings, huh?" The customers that had started to gather made Eddie feel extremely embarrassed as he bit his lower lips in frustration. He wished the ground would just open and swallow him alive. "Why're you not talking, dirty boy. You are incapable of doing a lot of things, imbecile." Tasha continued with her esteem-destroying taunts. "Last night, you were unable to stop your girlfriend from leaving you for a rich guy and now you can't even defend yourself in my presence." Eddie couldn't take more of Tasha's taunts and needed her to stop immediately at that moment. "What do you want, Tasha? I need you to let me be, please. You shouldn't have an issue with that, please." Eddie said in what fully sounded like a plea. Tasha scoffed. "What do I want? This guy must be joking! What do you have that you could offer? What I want is for you to finish with the toilets you came here to wash and leave. The more I keep looking at you, the more I feel like vomiting." It was at that moment it became clear to Eddie that Tasha thought he came to Accorf 7-star hotel to scrub toilets. "Dumb," he muttered under his breath. The customers, on the other hand, enjoyed the way Eddie was being aggressively cooked by Tasha and it made them constantly erupt in laughter. "He looks like he's on a vacation from the dumpsite, haha." One of them mocked as they all erupted in laughter. Another supported from the back, "How did he even manage to get in here? I'm sure the guard pitied him so he could get the leftovers after everyone's done." "Dumpster!" "Toilet nigha!!" "A talking toilet brush!!!" Another round of jest vibrated across the room as Tasha and the customers joined hands to mock Eddie. "Are you going to just stand there and watch yourself make your girlfriend proud by becoming a shameless laughing stock? Do something or leave this place immediately, you stink." Tasha downplayed Eddie and turned to Dorothy, who was staring at her disgustedly. "Stop staring at me like that, waiter. And chase this wretched stinky church rat out of this place." Dorothy was furious, seeing the manner in which Eddie was being talked to. If she continues to stay mute and Damien finds out, she will definitely get fired without being given a second chance. She was about to open her mouth to talk when Eddie quickly placed a finger on her lips, signalling for her not to speak. "Just get me my cup of wine," Eddie ordered as Dorothy left for the inner section of the bar. "Joker! You don't cease to amaze me. You want to order wine in this exclusive lounge." Tasha pestered, showing no mercy. "Do you know how much the least expensive wine here costs? A fuckin $2,000! You will only get yourself into trouble by ordering what is higher than your level. Even I, myself, can't afford a full bottle of wine, talkless of you, dirty pig." Eddie tried to hold himself back from laughing at Tasha's shameless utterances but he couldn't press down the loud chuckle that escaped his mouth. "What are you groaning at, you fool?" Tasha spat, noticing Eddie chuckle. "You're broke and don't deserve to be happy! Or are you not broke, you shameless filth!?" "You're right, Tasha. I'm broke and can't pay for wine because you also can't pay for it." Eddie retorted simply, his tone low but cautious.Related Chapters
