Jason thought that if Alex was in his house at that hour, it would be a good time to apologize for how he had spoken earlier.

He ventured into the house to see his father sipping on a glass of wine by the kitchen counter.

He was not expecting to see his father in his apartment.

The events of the evening played out in his head, and he knew that his father was not pleased.

He did not know if he would get scolded, grounded, or threatened. Cecilia's father seemed like a good friend to him.

"Dad," Jason called out as he approached his father. He drew out a bench and kept it at a distance before he sat down.

He might just be expecting a slap, and he was not sure what to think any longer.

When he looked up at his father, he could not read his expression, and Jason thought he would have a hard time knowing if he was mad or not.

"Where are you coming from?" Mr. Abbott began as he put down the phone he had been busy with and looked up at his son.
