"Follow me," Justin ordered in a hateful voice before walking towards the west area.

William followed without complaining, to guard a place, one has to scout its surrounding for possible threats, this is a crucial part of guarding.

Following Justin, William arrived at the river and saw the water flowing peacefully, the beautiful purple sky and its stars being reflected on the water causing William to stare for one extra second before closing the distance with Justin.

Nevertheless, while they strolled around the perimeter of the cave, a group of red eyed monsters observed them from a cave on top of a nearby mountain.

The darkness of the night hid the body of these monsters perfectly.

"Be honest to me and I won't tell anyone, is this really your first raid?" Justin asked William without looking at him.

"Yes, this is my first raid," William gave a simple answer.

"Stop lying, if this is your first raid then how were y

These humanoid monsters chatted among themselves in languages unknown to humans but from the cold glint in their red eyes, one could tell they are planning to kill the humans."I found a monster gem," William announced as he lifted the monster gem he found, it was as small as the one Justin found earlier but this one has grey color instead. "A monster gem on your first try, you sure do have luck," Justin commented. He took the monster gem from William and kept it inside his bag then they continued with their scouting. They went around the cave twice and this time they didn't face any monster. It is nearing the end of the guarding session, after now, it would be the turn of Benjamin and Sofia. As Benjamin explained in the beginning, there are different classes of hunters and their class plays a big role in their combat power and everything including combat. A defender might be able to fight a monster but they can never be on the same level as a trained attacker, a supporter might be able to use special types of weapons and equipment in a fight but they can never be as strong as attackers. Healers and enchanters are out of the question; their job is simply to help heal and boost the powers of the attackers. If an even more experienced hunter saw Benjamin and Sofia strolling around this dangerous area, they would be very disappointed because two of them would never be able to defend themselves when a monster attacks. However, oblivious of this fact, both of them kept patrolling with very cautious eyes, since it was nighttime, they had to be extra careful and vigilant. But then... ROAR! ROAR! Two loud roars spread across the area, following the powerful roars, the grou

After breaking through to High Stage Rank 1 elite realm, William did not stand up from the meditative position, he sat down and absorbed as much manners as he could in order to solidify his cultivation base. Cultivation/ cultivation base is like building a house, it first starts with a foundation which is the low stage of Rank 1 realm. When you then proceed forward and breakthrough to the mid stage, you add a layer of brick to your foundation but to make this brick stay and not cause trouble in the future, you have to ensure it's stable. In the cultivation sense, stabilizing the brick is the same as solidifying one's cultivation. It is already basic knowledge that a house with weak foundation would collapse at certain heights or during certain conditions thus cultivators must maintain a solid cultivation base. "I feel a lot stronger than before," William whispered with a proud smile. If breaking through to another stage could make him this powerful, just how powerful would he be

"You vile creatures, face my sword!" Justin showed no mercy as he rained down several dangerous attacks on the monsters. He wasn’t scared at all and fought with zero remorse.William also slashed his sword through the monsters, but he wasn’t as strong or as fast as Justin, who has mastered the way of the sword and has a lot of experience fighting in dungeons for a longer time. While the two attackers battled the monsters, Sofia used her best healing spell to heal the injuries Benjamin sustained during his battle."Thank you for moving fast. If you hadn’t moved that fast, I would have been dead by now," Benjamin thanked her with a smile as his head relaxed on her soft lap."That’s alright, but you have to stop wasting your energy to appreciate me. You have to get some rest," Sofia warned.Benjamin had already proved that he is a seasoned hunter by managing to stay alive under the onslaught of powerful monsters. If it were an ordinary human being or a weak hunter, they wouldn’t have sur

  • Rise Of The Powerful Husband    57. Jason (II)

Carson and Jason seemed to be in an intense staring contest as both men stared down at each other, one starred with hatred in his eyes and the other started with a stubborn intent radiating from his eyes. None of the two appears to be giving up, they both wanted to take down their opponent with their eyes. "You are coming with me Carson, if you won't go willingly then I'll have to force you," Jason said as he reached for his storage ring and brought out a glowing green jade sword that radiated a powerful aura. The presence of the sword caused a very strong wind to sweep across the area, causing chaos among the calm carpet grass of the garden they stood in. The aura from this sword alone is strong enough to be considered a sword intent. Sword intent can only be developed by sword masters who have spent years crafting their path in the art of sword and it's the strongest energy that any sword could radiate. Although Jason's sword doesn't have an intent yet, the aura it radiates wou

It was a pretty large office with ultra modern furniture and even the decorations were like something out of a futuristic sci-fi movie. Inside this office, an elderly figure wearing a black robe sat on his seat staring at empty hair with a serious expression on his face. Suddenly, a cloud of smoke began to form in the middle of his office and soon materialized into a human being, a young man with white hair who was breathing really fast as though he had been running from death itself. "He didn't listen," the old man said to Jason. Jason nodded his head, embarrassed he couldn't complete his mission. "I already expected that from him, he is very stubborn," The elderly figure responded. "Since he rejected our gentle invitation, we would have to capture him next time," The elderly figure said. Jason nodded his head and bowed. "You can leave now, tell the med team to check your body for any form of foreign substance, we can't trust that young man, who knows if he might have planted

Two days have passed now inside Caveland dungeon, what they didn't expect was that there would be no monster on the way to the boss room. Even when they slept at night, they weren't scared of monsters attacking them because apparently, there was no monster surrounding them. The only time they had to face monsters was when they first got into the dungeon and it appears the spawn rate of monster close to the entrance was way higher than this part of the dungeon. However, while it was a good thing that there is no monster disturbing them because it enabled them save some energy for the final boss fight, it was also a bad thing because the more monster they face, the more money they make. Without monster gem, they wouldn't be able to earn money apart from the measly settlement the hunter guild would give them for clearing the dungeon which is not up to the price of 4 monster gem. Justin was sadder than the rest of the team, he was standing at the back as they proceeded with caution t

Everyone became alert after hearing Sofia's screen, especially Benjamin who was standing in front of her and Justin who was just behind her. "What is it, Sofia?" William asked as he took his eyes off the engravings on the wall. "Look," Sofia pointed at something in front of her with shaky hands. The others turned to the direction she pointed at but there was nothing there, all that appeared there was darkness that none of them could see through. "There's nothing there Sofia," Justin commented with a frown, he thought Sofia is trying to play pranks with them and as a serious person, Justin hates pranks especially during serious times like these."Yes, I can't see anything," Benjamin added. "Same goes for me," William joined in. "Does that mean I am the only one who can see this," Sofia asked with a shaky voice as she kept taking several steps backward in fright. "Sofia, behave," Justin reprimanded. Even Benjamin and William were somehow fed up by her actions. Nevertheless what

William stared at the figure before him, his mind racing as he tried to make sense of the twisted reflection standing just a few paces away. The smirk on the doppelganger's face was chilling, filled with an arrogance and darkness that William recognized but had never embraced himself. This was not just a reflection; it was something far more sinister. "Who are you?" William demanded, his voice steady, though the unease gnawed at him. "Why do you look like me?" The doppelganger tilted its head slightly, the smirk widening. "I am the Dark One," it said, its voice a distorted echo of William's own. "The force behind the apocalypse, the one who brought chaos and ruin to your world." William’s eyes widened in shock, and then narrowed in anger. "You... You’re the one who unleashed the zombies, who turned the world into a living nightmare?" His grip tightened on his sword, the blade beginning to glow faintly with the power of his blood magic. "Why? Why would you do something so monstrous?

The robotic voice barely finished speaking when the ground beneath the hunters began to tremble violently. Before they could react, the floor cracked open beneath their feet, creating a gaping tunnel that spiraled downward into darkness. Without a moment’s hesitation, William shouted, “Into the tunnel! They jumped into the tunnel, their bodies sliding down the smooth, obsidian-like surface as the walls blurred past them.
