Linnie walked downstairs with her heels clicking against the marble tiles in a rhythm. Again, she found Luther having breakfast, but this time around, she decided to ignore him completely; she had somewhere important she needed to be.

“Where are you going so early?” Luther asked when Linnie walked past him, headed for the door.

Linnie wanted to ignore him as she had done at first, but she decided that it was best she responded to him, especially after ruining her mission last night with his bloody call.

“I am going to do what you are supposed to be doing,” Linnie said to him.

Luther grew upset instantly. He abandoned his food and got up immediately, and that was when Linnie realized that he was fully dressed for work. She did not even pay attention to what he was wearing, because she was already used to seeing him lazy about almost every morning on a full meal.

“And what the fuck is that supposed to mean?” Luther asked.

Linnie was surprised at Luther’s fury, but she was not afraid; s

The proud smile that Darwin gave to Luther was unmistakable, making Linnie almost burst in annoyance. She wished in that moment that she was the one who had come up with that brilliant idea and not Luther.“Now that Linnie has gone to spoil things for us,” Luther continued. It just felt good to always drag Linnie’s failure into the discussion, because not only would it rile her up, it would prevent her from getting that soft spot she had been desperately trying to obtain from his father. The words that he and Linnie exchanged that morning at the house was still nagging at him. Luther was not keen about the Kinkaid company; he had other desires, and as long as he continued to enjoy the benefits of being a Kinkaid son, and also, the returns from the company. However, he had not been awarded that luxury, because his father continued to insist that he become a part of the company.“I did not spoil anything for us!” Linnie jumped in, desperate to defend herself, and Luther smiled callously

Laxus could not stop thinking about his conversation with Bowman. If they could try to set him up once even after leaving, they would definitely try to do it again, and Laxus could not just wait idly by for them to come to him and destroy him. Laxus remembered the tarot reader at Bowman’s mansion and what she had said about him. At that time, it had been scary, and Laxus hadn’t wanted to hear anything about it, but now, he realized that he was in deep danger.”And you must fight them back, Laxus.”Those were the words of Bowman, and they could not stop racing in his mind. He could not sto

He began to think of what he could do with such an amount of money, because whatever Laxus decided to do, he could not afford to fail. Laxus already concluded that he would work his butt off, and he would pay Bowman back the money; he realized that he actually needed money to be able to fight his family back, because if Laxus had his own money, his family would not be able to treat him like total trash, and the only person that would be able to give him that amount of money was Bowman. While Laxus was thinking, his phone rang; it was Mr. Henry.Laxus decided to pick up. “Good morning, Mr. Henry,”

There was certainly no way anyone could be this generous without asking for anything in return. Laxus was a stranger to Bowman, and even though he knew that Laxus was a Kinkaid, he was still a stranger, and as such, an impossible notion for him to be so interested in Laxus’s wellbeing all for nothing. • Rise Of The Rightful Heir   The Only Ticket

Linnie was having trouble sleeping as she paced about her room in her silky expensive robe. She and Luther had separate bedrooms right from the beginning of their marriage, and she could literally count the number of times they have had sex.“How am I supposed to get pregnant?” Linnie would often ask herself whenever she was being reminded that she should have birthed a Kinkaid child for Luther. In truth, Linnie hadn’t put in extra effort to get Luther to bed her, because she was more focused on getting herself into the Kinkaid company than having a baby. If she had a baby, they would ensure that she stayed indoors and nurtured the child, but if Linnie managed to get a seat in the company, she would be able to secure a future for herself.Being Luther’s wife alone was not enough.Linnie thought about her life before she met Laxus Kinkaid, and she shook her head furiously.“I am never going back there,” Linnie told herself firmly, and she meant it.Darwin could embarrass and humiliate

  • Rise Of The Rightful Heir   Love Or Money?

Soon enough, a relationship began between them, spurred by the fact that Linnie had pretended not to have known that he was Laxus Kinkaid. Laxus had been impressed, because according to him, he had always been with women who were only with him for his money.“I find you quite interesting, and being with you makes me feel safe and comfortable. I do not have to try as much as possible to act like I am the son of a rich man, because you accepted me even before you knew who I was,” Laxus had said on the day that he had asked Linnie to be his girlfriend. “Al

How she ever thought that Laxus would be able to protect her, Laxus had no idea.“The boss will see you shortly,” one of the domestic workers at Bowman’s mansion informed Laxus, disrupting his thought.“Okay, thank you,” Laxus said as he shifted thoughts of Nessy and her plea away from his mind. Then he sat up straighter as he waited for Bowman. He could not fill his mind with thoughts of Nessy and whatever problems she might be having when he also had problems of his own. He had acted like a teenager who was scared that his mother had abandoned him, and worse, his voice had been frantic and loud enough that Nessy had heard him. Even though Nessy hadn’t said anything about it or reacted to it, Laxus had felt completely flushed. Fortunately for him, Nessy had simply accepted to go with him to Bowman’s, abandoning the breakfast that she had prepared for the both of them.“I am sorry that we couldn’t have the breakfast that you took time making,” Laxus eventually managed to break the ice. “Bowman sounded urgent, and if we had stayed back to eat, we would have been late. Nevertheless, we would have the next breakfast together,” Laxus promised. Now, he didn’t know if Nessy was cold because he didn’t eat what she had prepared or if she was still on about last night.“It’

  • A Hardened Patient

Darwin tried to sit up, but the sharp pain that shot through him from every part of his body sent him back to the bed and he groaned out loud in pain, causing his assigned nurse to rush into his ward.He was feeling numb on his waist and he was frustrated as fuck.“Mr. Darwin, I suggest you stay put,” the young nurse said frantically as she tried to check Darwin if he was alright. As soon as her hand touched Darwin, he hit her hand away from his body violently, making her yelp in pain.“I was only trying to help you,” she said solemnly.“I don’t need your freaking help!” Darwin yelled at her rudely. “Where is my doctor?” Darwin asked angrily. He hated being confined to a hospital bed. For years, he had managed to stay far away from hospitals and doctors, and now that he was here, he wanted to leave badly. He could not understand why he was feeling this much pain, and why he wasn’t feeling his waist. It had been just a push from Bowman’s man, so it couldn’t have been that bad. Besides,

  • The Kinkaid Wife

Linnie sat dutifully in Luther’s ward, close to his bed in the hospital like a loving and caring wife that she was. They had been in the hospital all night, but she felt relieved now, because her knee had been treated and the pain had greatly subsided. Linnie could rarely believe how everything had worked in her favor. She had ensured that the bloggers had gotten the story, and now that it was dawn, she believed that the news would be flying all over the internet in no time.Luther opened his eyes, finally awake. The doctor had given him some sedatives to make him sleep better after he was examined, and also some drugs to help the alcohol get out of his system faster. He looked like a mess, and once again, Linnie realized that he was not half as handsome as Laxus.“You,” Luther said grudgingly when he turned and saw Linnie. “I don’t want you here, you evil woman,” Luther declared.Of course, Linnie knew that he would try to be a nuisance once he woke up, but she was very well prepare

  • A Perfect Way Too Reconcile

Laxus wondered if he had not made the mistake of not letting Nessy sleep in the guestroom like she wanted, because she had become cold and unhappier. He felt terrible, because this wasn’t what he envisioned for the both of them, especially with how they had been during their trip before the Zayomi man spoilt things for them.As Laxus cast a glance over Nessy who was sleeping beside him on their bed, he worried about what they were becoming. His heart ached badly.“Why do I feel this way about being neglected?” Laxus asked himself worriedly. He could as well be very contented with the fact that Nessy was willing to play the perfect couple out there in public, and as long as they were cordial inside the home, he shouldn’t have minded, but Laxus couldn’t. He wanted things between himself and Nessy to be better than it had been. He wanted to be happy again, and he wanted to make Nessy happy.“You are in love with her.”A bold voice that sounded like Bowman’s said in Laxus’s head, but this

  • The Perfect Alibi

Linnie stood above Luther and stared at him for some minutes. He was still breathing, so she was certain that he had merely passed out; it must have been the effect of the alcohol in his system.“Bastard,” Linnie cussed him, resisting the urge to actually spit on his face.As she looked at him, she realized that she hated Luther Kinkaid with passion. If she wasn’t mindful of what laid at stake, she might have succumbed to the temptation of choking him and watching him die. This was literally the first time that Linnie was having this strong urge to kill, and she could not tell if it was as a result of the hatred she had for Luther or what she had experienced at Darwin’s office a few hours ago.“Who is helpless now?” Linnie asked the unconscious Luther hatefully.Luther stayed on the ground without moving, and the only thing that signified that he was still alive was the rising and falling of his beating chest. He was just like his father, Darwin, who was probably still lying just like
