CHAPTER 221

“So, you don’t dare to covet the Hemsworth property, but you have the audacity to covet mine. You are really brazen with so much audacity."

Allen ’s heart suddenly dropped. But thinking of these matters, he regained his composure and tried to explain, “Mr. Brook, the Justins are sincere in wanting to cooperate with you, and this request is beneficial to both of us. We will be able to achieve a win-win situation where you’ll have nothing to lose while benefiting from the help we offer to you. Don’t you agree?"

It was sure that the Justins had gone far and wide to make investigations about him and all in all, they could say he had only the Emerald group to himself. Even though the Emerald group was quite big, they believed they could still bring Derek down no matter what.

A more reason Allen  dared to make such a request to him.

But if they still had such crazy thoughts now, it would be a huge mistake!

Derek looked at Allen ’s firm and smug gaze, and his eyes turned cold. “Go back and tell your patriarch not to be a smart aleck. The Justins are far from being fit enough to make use of me."

“Moreover, the Justins ought to remember that I’m not your ally, but rather, your master. You all swore allegiance to me, therefore I have the hold over everything you all have. And if any of you try to mess with me, trust me,  i's not gonna be good. Don't be too scared to face the consequences!”

Derek sounded extremely tyrannical, and Allen  was both frightened and infuriated, as he didn’t expect that Derek didn’t take him seriously at all!

The words of dominance he just said also made Allen furious towards him.

But when he thought of what had just happened at the Hemsworths’ banquet just now, Allen  had no choice but to suppress his anger and force a smile. “Mr. Brook, I will definitely relay your words to my grandfather truthfully and let him come to a decision.”

After that, Derek left without looking back. He remembered he had kept Brenda hanging about the response as to what happened when he went to apologise.

He had also spent a lot of time at the banquet, but then he wouldn't wish she knew about what happened at the banquet. She might not be so free towards him as before anymore. And he could definitely not cope with that.

He had wanted to go to his mansion for the night then he remembered Brenda wasn't feeling well before he left, hence he decided to check on her.

On the other hand, after Derek left, Allen immediately took out his phone and called his grandfather. “Grandpa, at the Hemsworth residence tonight…”

He was about to report all the incredible events that occurred at the Hemsworth residence tonight when he suddenly recalled the warning that the burly soldier had given before he left.

Allen  immediately dropped the idea and paused before continuing, “I had a discussion with Derek after the Hemsworth banquet ended. Part of the discussion includes me mentioning to him what you had told me to, but he wasn’t willing to concede. He doesn’t even take us seriously, and he warned us not to be a smart aleck. He also said that we have always been servants to him.”

“How arrogant!” His grandpa was enraged. “If he had a root to a rich household, I would have said he was fit for that, but then he has no room for that at all. All he has is a few connections and now he is so proud to call us his servants?"

“With his current status, he should be utterly grateful to us for offering help to him, yet he still doesn’t know any better. We gave him an inch and he took a mile! Does he really think that the Justin's are afraid of him?”

He hollered clearly from the other end.

Allen  agreed entirely with his grandfather, but when he thought about the power that Derek had displayed tonight, he felt that there was definitely something fishy about him.

If he were merely a man with that little power of just the Emerald group, then, how could he command such strong power? It seemed as though he were more influenced than he seemed.

There was definitely something fishy behind this matter! Allen thought to himself, but then he quickly added.

“Grandpa, I still have something to say to you, but it’s not convenient to do so on the phone. I’ll tell you when I get home,” Allen  said.

He still decided to give Andrew a detailed explanation of everything that happened. After all, it was an important matter, and if it was really Derek’s doing, they would have to be wary and cautious toward Derek.

Although the military had issued a gag order, he would only be telling his grandfather about it when they were alone in a room at home. Even if the military had wide connections, it would be impossible for them to find out if he had revealed it or not.

“Okay, come home once you’re done. But until then, don’t fall out with Derek Brook yet. Drag it out for now and find a way to use the Emerald Group to bring us more profits.”

“Yes, Grandpa.” Allen agreed, but he didn’t wait any longer and instead rushed back to the Justins residence.

As for how he and Andrew avoided eyes and how he told him what had happened tonight at the Hemsworths and what Derek had done, that would be left for later.

By the time Derek alighted from the car at Brenda's  residence, it was already past 11 p.m.

Derek pushed open the door of her room and entered, only to find that Brenda was still sitting on the edge of the bed with her brows furrowed in a frown. She seemed to be thinking about something.

When she saw Derek enter, she looked him up and down before glaring at him furiously. She then switched off the lights in the room, turned over, and lay down on the bed.

Derek’s heart dropped. He finally remembered that he had said nothing to her even after he got to the place.
