With his life flashing before his very eyes, Liam continued his death race against time. He already knew something of this sort was going to happen and so he had fully equipped himself for it.

While leaving the library earlier, he had stolen a book which he intended to return when it was all over.

Seeing that no matter what he did, these men who were desperate to get into the good books of their boss were going to catch up with him, he fell onto the ground with a thud, feigning to be tired.

From their safe corner where they were watching the scene, Sam was already shaking with fear. Several times already, he had suggested to Dave that they would go rescue him but he had blatantly refused, saying he would pull through on his own.
