Chapter 114Just when he was about to take a bend into the road that would lead him to the highway, a car rammed into him from behind. Craning his neck to find out who the drunken driver was, he was hit from the side and before he could recover from this, another car came face to face, bashing his car completely. “Shit! What am I going to do now?” He muttered. These cars, knowing fully well that he had tracked down their activities earlier, decided to wait for him in the place he least expected. Liam was still thinking of what to do when the men who were dressed up in black suits began to get off their cars, wielding their baseball bats as it was always seen on TV. The scene scared Liam a bit and he began to blame himself for not picking up a gun from the mansion when he had the chance to. Shutting his eyes tightly, he pushed his hand into his hair while the men looked on. When he refused to step out even after five minutes, a man, who was apparently their leader, jumped on top
Chapter 115Nelson just arrived at the family mansion. If it was before, Naya would have been yelling his name from the door as she ran towards him but there was nothing of that sort. Pushing his head backwards, he let out a low wince, disappointment racking through him. When she informed him of her marital status, he was downcast but there was nothing he could do, rather to sit back and worry from a distance. If he had told her how he felt, she was going to act overboard and he didn't want that to happen so he kept it to himself. He was granted permission to take a leave the previous day and so he had decided to spend it with his family. Naya had no idea about this, otherwise, she would have been waiting for him in her family mansion. Immediately he stepped into the living room, Sam and Nathan who were chattering stopped at once, staring at him with widened eyes. They were scared of him not only because he belonged to the army but because he commanded more authority than them.
Chapter 116For the next few minutes that followed, Nelson was just staring at them. He didn't believe them a bit, their tone, lengthy time before answering questions and their uneasiness was evidence that they were hiding something from him. After what seems like forever, he clasped his hand together and then leaned forwards with a little smile tugging the side of his lips. “We know how Naya behaves whenever she is drunk, why did you allow her to go out alone at night…” he couldn't complete what he had to say when Nathan slammed his fist against the table. “You're speaking in her favor because she is your little sister. Other than that, you wouldn't be making this instance.” Nathan said. “I support him fully. Moreover, we are busy, always at work, do you expect us to be keeping tabs on a grown up who can't take care of herself.” Sam said. “Keeping tabs on a grown up you say? How then were you able to find out that she had a one night stand?” He snapped at him. “Thinking of this
Chapter 117Naya, already thinking about her dinner date with Liam, was grinning from side to side as she went about picking out clothes from her closet. She had placed more than three of her favorite dresses on her bed but she wanted more. She wanted to look so beautiful to Liam that evening and so she didn't mind going any length to make it happen. After several minutes of trying to come up with the perfect dress for the occasion, she settled for a blue gown that showed her shape. When she was done, she went ahead to apply her makeup, ensuring that she was careful in carrying out this little project like she had termed it without any mistake. Now standing behind the mirror, she began to admire herself, twirling around to ensure she had a good view of her body. “Perfect! I think I should go into modeling, rather than asking others if they are models.” She said with an eye roll. Grabbing her purse off the table, she headed straight for her door and soon she was in the garage wit
Chapter 118On arrival at the restaurant, Naya got in, leaving Wren in the car. While they were still on the way, she had begged him profusely to join them but he had refused saying he doesn't eat fast food. Now seated against the table she had chosen for them, her gaze was fixed on the entrance and so she was having a clear view of who was walking into the restaurant and those who were leaving. A few minutes later, yet Liam was nowhere to be found. She wasn't worried about this since she felt it was his job that had held him back. To keep herself busy, she began to scroll through her phone in search of something interesting to invest her time into. Smiling at the pictures she had taken with Rose at the hospital on her last visit, she started to make plans on her next visit. With just a few visits, she had found herself endeared to Rose already and didn't mind spending the whole day with her if she had the chance to do so. Doing this took her time but she had no idea about it un
Pushing his hand into his hair, Liam slowly lowered himself on the next seat, “I'm sorry, I should leave.” He said the next minute, pulling himself up. Before he could even take a step, Naya grabbed his arm, “Why? Is anything the issue?” She asked with a look of worry on her face. Suddenly, her eyes caught the injury spot which was prominent because of the large patch of blood. She was about to mention it to him, when Nelson rose, “You shouldn't be here.”“Nelson.” Naya called, disappointment written all over her face. She was scared that Nelson was going to create a scene like he always does whenever he was pissed. She tried to square off with him but Liam was quick to stop her. Smiling at him, he pushed his hand forward, “I'm William's Armani, nice to see you Nelson.” He said. The angry look on Nelson's face disappeared and it was replaced with curiosity. This was the first time they were meeting yet he already knew his name. Thinking it was Naya who had spilled information abo
Chapter 120After dinner, they got into Naya's car and then Wren drove them to the station.Liam's car had been condemned because of the hit it had received and so the towing services had towed it out of the road so it would cause accidents in the near future. During the drive Naya wouldn't stop talking to Nelson and he responded to every word and emotion just like she had wanted it. Liam who was seated with Wren at the front had his hand resting on his head as he stared out of the window. The night was colorful because of the neon street light that adorned the city. If it was before, he would get lost in the beauty but with several thoughts running through his head at the same time, he couldn't concentrate. Deep down, he knew it was an insider attack and he was wondering who it was.It was going to be hard because he couldn't find anything useful in tracking the men that had attacked him and from what they had said, they were employed by a person with no identity. “Are you bothe
Now seated behind his study table in his room, Liam was rubbing his nape, staring at the laptop which was just getting booted on. With the tone his mother had used, he didn't need anyone to tell him that she was furious and wouldn't mind going any length to ensure that the people who were involved would be fished out promptly. He was still staring at the screen of his laptop when his mother's call came through and at once he received it. “Mom…” he called, biting the side of his lips. “Are you home now?” She asked and he nodded before answering, “Yes, I got in not too long ago.” Madam Aurelia who was seething with anger as she paced around her office refused to say a word and Liam on his part was patient, knowing fully well that she was somewhere trying to cool off. When it was getting to quarter of an hour without a word from her, he became scared. He didn't allow his mind to start making up scenarios for him before he yelled, “Mom, are you okay?” “I'm son.” She replied with a
