The following morning, Naya went about with her duties with a heavy heart and long face. Severally, she had tried to feign that all was well with her but she failed woefully.

Shutting her eyes, she held the edge of the table and then slid through the wall but before she could get to the floor, Liam arrived by her side.

Scooping her into his hands, he carried her to the living room and then dropped her on the couch.

“Liam, please step back. They have done enough already, please. I don't want them to hurt you.” She muttered, tears rolling down her cheeks.

“That means I have surrendered to them and I will not do that. I will never succumb to what those people expect of me.” He said with a determined look and tone.
