Swinging his briefcase, Liam made his way down the stairs, whistling a nursery rhyme as he scrolled through his phone at the same time.

“Where are you heading?” Naya asked, holding the railings. It was his whistling that attracted her.

“Work, today is Thursday.” He said in a carefree manner.

“Are you seriously saying that now?” She half yelled, looking around in search of Rose, she huffed.

“Why are you overreacting?” He already knew the reason for her actions and he felt it was not necessary.

“Can you listen to yourself speak? Liam, Granny might have promised to back you but… Alaric is dangerous, she can't face him.”

Taking in a breath, Liam got off the stairs and then held her shoulder, “I don't intend to pull your family into this. Granny isn't going to get involved, I can assure you that.”

“Then what about you? It's clear Alaric wants you out of his way, why are you proving to be stubborn?” She yelled.
