184. Firm and Icy.

After leaving the police station, Alaric dropped by the prosecution office and was immediately led to the office of one of the presiding judges.

“Oh, here you are.” Judge Carlton said as he ushered hlm in with wide arms.

“When are you going to change these furniture? They no longer befit you, you know.” Alaric said, looking around the office before he plopped on the couch.

Carlton rejoined him after brewing two mugs of coffee. “I’m impressed, you know.” He was grinning like a little child.

“I told you, he is nothing but a pawn in my game and I move him anywhere I want and at any time.” Alaric bragged.

“You can say that again.” Carlton laughed.

For immunity against the law, Alaric struck a deal with several important people in the country and Carlton was just one of them.

“So… what do you intend to do with him now?” Carlton asked, crossing his legs. “You can’t leave him in the holding cell for more than forty eight hours.”

“He is out.” Alaric replied, drumming his finger agains
