243. You've done enough!

Sitting in the bar section of his home, Alaric was sipping a glass of water with his hands folded in front of him.

Karl's words were making him uncomfortable.

Silencing someone wasn't a hard task for him to do but he wasn't moved to do the same to Kaylan when she was merely working on Liam's instruction.

Balling his hands into a fist, he would clench it for a while and then release it.

This went on for a long time and when he finally stopped, he rose up only to plop back on his seat with a thud.

“I'm a pawn in this game.” He muttered, tugging his hair. “He even has a replacement for me already. Who could that be?” He pondered, feeling his neck and back of his head for the presence of any cut but there was none.

Shaking his head vehemently, he rose but as usual, he fell back on his seat, grabbing his head as he squinted.

“I can't meet Liam for help. He is going to look down on me and I can't let that happen.” He huffed and with his lips caged in between his teeth, he grunted.
