The moment the competition wrapped up finally, armed with his prize, Liam began to head towards the exit, ignoring the crowd of several people who wanted to take a photo with him or even engage him in a chit chat.

While others considered it rude, a few others felt he was overwhelmed and so they made no comment to his action.

“I really can't believe you are leaving without me.” Jake said, halting Liam on his tracks. He had been on his tail ever since he left the podium but Liam had no idea about it until now.

“I'm sorry but I have somewhere to be.”

“Somewhere to be? We ought to be celebrating your success now. You're the trending search now on all websites and you have to… is it about Rose, she would understand.”

“It's not about her.” He said hurriedly, digging his hands into his hair. After tugging on it for a while, he resumed running and this time around Jake didn't bother to go with him.
