Chapter 53Shocked by the question, Naya who had a smile on her face switched to a different expression entirely as she stared back at Rose who was waiting for her response. “Is it that difficult to answer?” Rose's voice made Naya snap her head upwards. Smiling nervously at her, she tilted her head to the side when her phone suddenly began to ring. Taking this as a cue, she took an excuse and then left the ward. Even after speaking with the caller, she didn't return to the ward immediately. She remained in the hallways, pacing to and fro with her hands clutching her gown. Chapter 54“Ta-da, I'm back.” Liam said, poking his head through the door, alternating his gaze from one girl to the other. “Hey… I thought you got lost or something.” Rose said, smacking her lips as she leaned into her pillow, a bright smile etched on her face. Chapter 55When he got to the doctor's office, after knocking on the door twice, he pushed the door in. “Good morning doc.” He said. Doctor Francis, who seemed busy with the patients' files that were on his table, immediately snapped his head up at his greetings with a bright smile on his lips.“I haven't seen you in forever, what's the issue? Chapter 57Tired from running around since the day began, Liam walked towards his bed and after allowing his backpack slid over his shoulder onto the ground he fell on the bed with a sigh and his eyes tightly shut only to hear the crashing sound from the living room.Wondering what might have gone wrong, he quickly pulled himself up and with a speed of lightning, he dashed out of the room, poking his head through the door.“Is everything alright?” He asked but he didn't get a response to his question. Chapter 58Having no answer to his question, Naya was just staring back at him, her lips quivering as she tried to come up with an answer. That morning after he had rushed out, she was enraged and so her mind began to run haywire, cooking up different scenarios for her and when she could bear it anymore, she decided to follow after him. She was curious and wanted to find out what he was really up to. Seeing Liam's angry stare, she couldn't bring herself to give him a response because she feared it was going to skyrocket his anger to the point where he wouldn't be able to control himself anymore. Biting her lips she bent her head, “I'm sorry.” “I didn't ask for your apology. I just want to know your reasons… reasons why you decided to tail me. It's not as if I told a lie, right from the very beginning, I had been always transparent with you… seems like you're still having a hard time trusting me.” He said with a shrug. Chapter 59The next day, Naya woke up with a splitting headache which made her grab her head with both hands as she winced in pain. For more than five minutes, she remained in one spot, trying to remember the event of the previous night but her head was blank. Reaching out for her phone on the lamp stand, she turned it on only to see a message from Liam and at once she clicked it. 'Some hangover medicine is on the table.’ — the message read. Without giving it a second thought, she made her way towards the table and shoved the drugs down her throat before emptying the bottle of water down her gullet. Though her splitting headache was abated she was still under the effect of the drug that she had to walk slowly towards her bed and then slump on it with a thud. The next time she woke up, it was already past eight am and once again on her study table was a tray of food.
