Chapter 101

Nathan's POV

Nathan sighed. He had called Vivian one of those evenings and spoken with Nate, offering to come see the child, but he couldn't muster the nerve to confront the boy. How do you begin to console a small boy? What were the correct words to say?

He had contemplated bringing the boy to the Hayes mansion immediately, but he had needed time to process too and would not be helping Nate if he didn't find closure.

He had no idea what was going on when he lost both of his parents at such a young age. After their brief funeral, he had expected that life would return back to normal; at least with what he remembered.

Not until the social worker arrived to his parents beat up apartment and took him to a children's shelter where he saw other hungry looking kids, that he knew what was happening.

He groaned, "I'm sorry. Had to fix up a lot of things. Will you forgive me?" He mumbled.

Nate smiled and nodded. His smile was so dazzling that one wouldn't realize what he had been through. Kids
