Chapter 31

Nathan’s POV

Nathan stepped in, “I’ll take that,” he said, snatching the envelope Susan had given to them at the restaurant from Scott.

“Thank you!,” he exclaimed as he rushed into his office and shut the door before Scott could say anything more.

Nathan felt relieved, even though he didn’t understand why Scott hadn’t followed him but had left him alone. He had been expecting his brother to come after him in order to take the envelope back from him.

Maybe Scott felt that he wanted to familiarize himself with the deal.

He went straight to his chair and sat down, pulling the documents out of its envelope right away. As he turned on his computer, he was going to catch up on the project so he could figure out exactly how to exact his retribution, but someone knocked on the door.

He raised his head to the door, curious as to who it may be. “Come in,” he said, watching as the door opened and an unfamiliar woman entered his office.
