Chapter 12

After two weeks.

Max angrily shifts the food Ariana serves him aside.

"You know, I can't poison you," she says, focused on her own meal.

Max breathes heavily, the words lingering on the tip of his tongue before finally saying, "Let's get the pregnancy terminated."

The words sound disgusting to Ariana, who stops eating and drops her jaw in shock.

"What did you say? Terminate the pregnancy? Are you crazy? Why do you want to ruin my life? After all these years, I finally have a pregnancy, and now you are telling me to terminate it," Ariana blurts out, tears welling in her eyes.

He shrugs it off without any pity, "We don't need it, you know that. You want a divorce. So what's the essence of giving birth?" he retorts.

She gazes at him in disbelief and asks, "Are you doing this because of her? You want to be with her?" This shocks him, and he widens his eyes.
