"Room 203..."
Dressed in his delivery uniform of black pants, and white shirt, Jayden walked in to the hotel, heading to the room where he would deliver the food.
As he searched his pocket for the room number, he felt the ring in his left pocket, and brought it out.
He stared at the silver ring with so many undefined emotions, while caressing it the whole time. The light illuminated on the ring, and it shone bright like a diamond.
He smiled sheepishly at the thought of the romantic moment with his bride-to-be.
The silver ring was the engagement ring. He was going to propose to his girlfriend, Stephanie, after work. It was going to be one of the best moments of his life.
He carefully put it back into his pocket, and brought out the card in which the room number was inscribed on.
Jayden knocked the door, it was opened, revealing a man in his early 30's.
Jayden greeted him and stretched out his hand, indicating that he should take the delivery.
The man smiled mischievously, he didn’t take the delivery but said to Jayden,
“Maybe you could get into the room? I want to show you something.”
Jayden became more confused. The rule clearly stated that no delivery person should enter into their client's room. In all his experience as a delivery guy, this was the first time he was experiencing it.
"I'm sorry, sir, but I cannot come in. It goes against the rules."
Several thoughts ran through his mind. What could he want? What was with the mischievous smile? He kept asking rhetorical questions.
"Baby, who is there at the door?"
He was jolted back to reality by the voice of a woman. That voice…it was very familiar to him.
“A delivery man! I called for some food, so that I could have energy to have fun with you.” The man raised his voice.
“You’re so bad, the delivery man is still here!” The girl said with a flighty voice.
The man smiled evilly and he loose the door, now the door was opened widely.
The scene in the room shocked Jayden.
A girl with a bath towel was lying on the bed, with her cheek flushed strangely.
"Stephanie?" He called out, wishing it wasn't here. But reality hit him. It was his Stephanie. The girl he wanted to propose to after work… was in a hotel room, almost naked with a man.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, trying to calm his nerves.
"What… Why are you here?" She asked. She was surprised to see him. She knew that there was no point trying to defend herself. It was crystal clear.
"I called him here, because I thought it would be fun seeing your ex-boyfriend being here." the man said with a strange smile.
“What ex, Stephanie, you told you you were studying in the library! This is how you study?” Jayden couldn’t believe what happened.
He was dreaming that Stephanie would accept his propose, they would have a nice marriage.
But now...Jayden felt so painful, he gritted his teeth, his body was trembling too.
"Well, since you are here already… I guess you know what is happening now. There is no explanation for whatever is going on here."
Stephanie said indifferently, as if she didn’t do anything wrong.
“Anyway, our relationship terminated, so just leave and continue to deliver your food now. Don’t bother me everyday, I felt sick staying with a poor guy like you.”
She sneered.
Jayden could feel his heartbeat quicken.
He tried as much as possible not to show how hurt he felt.
"Why? You said you loved me...we would be together forever..." He quivered. That was the only thing he could mutter at that moment. He thought she would tell him it was all a joke, but the opposite was the case.
"Jayden, don't you get? I cannot be with a man like you! I want cell phones, luxurious bags and limit-edition dresses! Not the poor cheap necklace from a little shop!" she blabbed.
“I’m so embarrassed telling my friends my boyfriend is a delivery man!” Stephanie looked so arrogant, but she forgot she was from a poor family too.
Jayden said with a trembling voice, “But I thought we loved each other, we could...”
“Love? The one who real loved me would give me 3000 dollars allowance, expensive make-ups and beautiful dresses, not like you! You only said, but never do it.” Stephanie sneered.
Her words were like echoes of the mind. It kept repeating in such a rhythm that brought more pain, and caused his heart to break.
The man seemed to enjoy the show, and deemed it necessary to add salt to the injury.
“But I gave everything I had to you...the love from a poor man is nothing?” Jayden whispered.
“Yes, if you’re just a poor delivery man, then how dare you talk about love?” Stephanie sneered.
Jayden smiled, he suddenly calmed down, now he knew what kind of person Stephanie is.
“Maybe you’re right, Stephanie.” Jayden said indifferently, "But remember, do not regret your choice."
"Regret?" Stephanie chuckled, "what do I have to regret? Not like I have anything to lose."“Don’t try to brag here, Jayden, I know who you are, a poor, smelly delivery man! Now just leave!” She mocked."You see… This is why I said it must be fun." The man laughed, “A naive poor guy thinks a beautiful girl would suffer with him from the life...”He mocked, “But the poor guy would never know what a nice time I had with his girl while he was delivering the food, thinking she would marry him...Your take out tastes good, but your girl tastes better.”Stephanie slapped the man slightly, “You’re so bad!”Her voice was so timid, but the things she did was not.She hugged from back of the man, the man said, “Ah, I heard that you’ve never slept with Stephanie, that’s too bad, you would never know how good she is...”Jayden was irritated by his words, he clenched his fists and gritted his teeth.“Oh, our delivery man is going to fight me here? Come on, just leave. You would be died if you dare
Jayden woke up the next morning, feeling energized.Today, he must go to his company, sign some documents. Then after his graduation, he would become the CEO of the company right away.He took his shower, and opened the wardrobe to take out something to wear. However, it dawned on him that he only had his delivery clothes in there. He didn’t get time to get some new clothes for now.“Well, not bad. At least I got used to wear it anyway.” He smirked. He drove his delivery scooter to the company, and parked it in the parking lot.The company's name was boldly written, "Fernando's Intl.".He walked in, but was stopped by the receptionist. If there was one thing he hated, then it would be embarrassment."Where are you headed to, young man?" She asked, looking at him with an annoying face.He was wondering why she looked at him that way, until he looked at his clothes. "So, this is why." He muttered under his breath. "I'm sorry, but I did not come here to deliver food. I—" he tried to
Jayden pushed the door open, and was surprised to see Mr. Thomas, the butler. It seemed like he was waiting for him."I have been waiting for your arrival. Finally, you came!" Jayden walked in, and shut the door. He looked around in amazement, and satisfaction. Soon, it will be his. The office was furnished to his taste. Simple, yet exquisite! The butler saw the satisfactory look on his face, and smiled. "Just the way you love it.""Hm." He nodded.Mr. Thomas passed the documents to him, and he sat down, took the pen from the table, and the papers too. He began reading each line of the document carefully. He smirked, after reading the document. He flicked the pen, and inscribed his signature on it."Congratulations, Jayden. You are now the CEO of Fernando's Intl.""Thank you."The butler was happy that he had finally agreed to take over. He recalled the time he tried to convince him to abort his plans of disguising as a delivery guy, and take over the company. Now, here he is, doing
The manager had left to use the restroom. She had come out just in time to see the receptionist slap the young man in front of her.She had wondered who it was, and what his offense was, that would make the receptionist slap him.She had hastened to get to the scenario, but halted to check her phone that had just beeped, indicating that she had a message. It was an email with an attachment. She had been informed about the CEO beforehand, but the email she received was a short description of the CEO, as the the heading was titled, 'CEO'.She had clicked it open, and it showed his picture. Her heart sank when she saw his picture. He was the same person the receptionist had slapped. The delivery guy she was talking about."This is worse than I thought," she said. She needed to stop her from causing any further problem. The receptionist turned to tell the manager that he was the man they were looking for, "Ms. Here is the man that broke—" she paused. She just met what seemed to be the sh
He walked in, not minding the weird eyes that wanted to feed on him. He already expected to have another drama unfold. He would not blame them. A person dressed in a delivery uniform, or anything of that class had no business with a bank as this.It was the most famous bank, and only the upper class saved their money in it. The minimum deposit was 5,000 dollars. It was situated in the outskirts of the city. With the number of cars parked outside, and the way the people entered in and out of the bank, dressed in sumptuous clothes, one could easily tell that it was meant for big influencers, and the rich, as a whole. It was a bank that everyone knew was meant for the upper class. It was Bank d'Finance, owned by a group of French influencers, who had moved in to the country, and planned to become US citizens.Everyone, as always, wore their expensive dresses. Everyone, except Jayden. Not like he cared. He just wanted to get things done, and rest. He was already tired of the whole drama.
The cashier was shocked. The manager was a highly respected person, and whosever he is bowing down to, must be someone of high caliber. The people who were present too, in the bank had astonished looks on their faces. He was just a delivery guy to them.Only the Creator knew where the cashier got the courage to question the manager. "Excuse me, sir. Why show so much respect to a delivery guy?" She received no answer from him, so she asked again.Rather than get a response, a slap landed on her cheek. The manager had slapped her. "Do you know who this man is?"She shook her head, telling him expressionally, that she did not know him.He showed her his Bank ID card. She took the card from him, and gasped in realization. The ID was specifically for Senior VIP clients, who had 50 million dollars in the account. She had first thought he stole it, until she saw his picture on it. As much as she did not want to believe that a delivery guy and the owner of the ID card were one, and the same
He was just returning from the party, where he met his lover, more like his sex mate. He hit on the road, driving at a high speed, while the loudspeakers in the car blared with music. He had been kissing at intervals, while driving. He had ran out of control, and had knocked Jayden down. "Oops." The girl in the car exclaimed. He could have just drove past, but he wanted to have fun.He came out of his car to meet Jayden, who was just getting up from the floor.Jayden turned to face him, and was about to say something, but he did not get the chance to, as the guy had already started yelling. Jayden just looked at him, confused. "Watch where you are going, will you? Now, look… you hit my car with that thing. Do you know how much this car worth? You, and your assets—if you have any, is not worth this expensive car."Jayden was very sure he did not run into his car, it was the man that drove carelessly, as though he owned the road. He was the one who drove on a high speed, and almost in
The officer bowed his head, and apologized. "I'm sorry, sir."The thought of getting involved with The Jackson's was something he did not want to experience. He had heard of people's experience with The Jackson's, and he certainly did not want to have an experience. He turned to Jayden, and frowned."Young Man, you must pay for the damages you caused." He said."What damages? You have not confirmed if there is any damage, before asking me to pay. He was the one who hit, and knocked me down. Why should I pay for anything? By law, he is supposed to compensate me, for damaging my scooter.""You better obey, or I might arrest you.""You think I am scared of you? Are you sure you do not want to confirm the damages?" Jayden smirked."No, I won't. Are you going to pay back, or not?" The officer said. He was baffled by his boldness. Was he not afraid of him, or even the rich guy in front of him?"Are you this stubborn? I think I remember you. You were the guy from the party, who did not have
