Chapter 24

"Tha…Thank you," she stammered, and shook her hand, nervously.

"Follow me, then."

She looked at her sister, and then, at Sonia. They had a confused look, as to why she was nervous.

She followed her into the elevator, and remained in silence.

'I have my eyes on you.' His words kept reverberating in her mind.

Ann kept stealing glances at her, she wanted to engage her in a conversation, but she shove it off.

They finally reached his office, and she knocked. He asked them to come in, and this time, he was not typing as usual, but he was standing near a board—something similar to a leaderboard.

"Go…good day, sir."

"Good day, Ms. Bartholomew."

She did not know what was written on the board, she waited patiently for him to say something. She was glad that Ann was still with her, ever though she disliked her, for reason she could not tell, yet.

"I will be back in an hour, I need to prepare the documents for the next project." She said, shattering Carina's little hope.
