Chapter 8

He was just returning from the party, where he met his lover, more like his sex mate. He hit on the road, driving at a high speed, while the loudspeakers in the car blared with music. He had been kissing at intervals, while driving. He had ran out of control, and had knocked Jayden down.

"Oops." The girl in the car exclaimed.

He could have just drove past, but he wanted to have fun.

He came out of his car to meet Jayden, who was just getting up from the floor.

Jayden turned to face him, and was about to say something, but he did not get the chance to, as the guy had already started yelling. Jayden just looked at him, confused.

"Watch where you are going, will you? Now, look… you hit my car with that thing. Do you know how much this car worth? You, and your assets—if you have any, is not worth this expensive car."

Jayden was very sure he did not run into his car, it was the man that drove carelessly, as though he owned the road. He was the one who drove on a high speed, and almost injured him. He wondered how scooter could even leave a scratch on his car, not to mention, damaging it. Jayden was furious.

He would not have someone blame him for something that was not his fault at all.

"Excuse me, you knocked me down. It is your fault, and your carelessness. You have no right to yell at me, for something that is not my fault, but your mistake. You should do otherwise. You are not acting according to the law."

The young man laughed at Jayden. He looked at him carefully, and closely, and laughed again.

"What can you do? You are just a poor delivery guy with no qualifications whatsoever. What do you know about the law? I'm sure you know nothing about it, and that is why you can comfortably speak nonsense. Do you not know that we control the rules. We, the rich, are above the law. We can do whatever we want. So, quit that attitude, dude."

Just as Jayden was pondering on his words, he thought he belonged to a different world. His father had taught him to be kind to everyone, no matter what position they hold, or class they belong to. He thought the world was a beautiful place, where people live together in harmony, but as he grew up, he began to see a different world. A world where the poor are oppressed, and the rich can do whatever they wanted. Just then, a young lady came out of the car, dressed in a mini gown. She walked over to her lover, and then took a look at Jayden.

"Oh, you!" She exclaimed, pointing her finger at him.

"You know him, babe?" The man asked, hugging her, to make Jayden feel jealous.

"Yes, I do. His name is Jayden. He was my classmate, back in highschool." She said, giving him a look that was not quite understandable.

"So, she is the one. The highschool dog." He thought, and chuckled aloud.

She was given that name because she wanted to belong to the "pop-up girls", and so, she always did whatever they asked her to do.

"I thought you said you were from a rich family. So, what are you doing, driving a scooter, and putting on a delivery uniform?" She mocked.

Jayden's countenance had changed. Why were people like this? What happened to right to work? Why were the poor being trampled on? The more he thought about all this, the more angry he became.

Not like they had any money of their own, they were dependent on their parent's wealth.

He deserved an apology from both of them.

"Apologize, now."

"And what if I don't?" The man countered.

"I said you should apologize, because you are wrong. You knocked me down, and still insulted me. You owe me an apology."

They looked at each other, and laughed.

"You must be dreaming, young man. Hm, I admire your audacity. How can a poor delivery guy like you, look at me in the face, and still have the boldness to ask me to apologize."

Jayden glared at them. He was going to call a police officer to report the issue. "If you don't apologize, I will call the police!" He threatened.

"Oh, I'm scared!" He chuckled lightly, "call them, and watch as your plans to arrest me backfires."

Jayden could not comprehend what he meant. Luckily, a police officer passed by, and had noticed the wrong parking.

He was heading home when he saw them standing as though they were about to fight.

"What is going on here?" He asked no one in particular.

He did not give Jayden a chance to speak.

"This poor delivery guy here, ran into my car with his scooter, and damaged it. I had kindly asked him to compensate me for the damages, but rather than do that, he began to rain insults on me."

Jayden stared at him in bewilderment. How can one lie so well, that it escapes his lips like air? If there were any lie competition, he was sure to win.

"I need to check the car, to know where it was damaged. Can you show me, or do I need to check round?" The officer said, about to examine the car.

"You do not have to do that. Just believe me, and get this dumbass arrested. He is at fault," he said.

"What do you mean, young man? Let me do my job. I need to make some clarifications, first."

The man knew that he was going to be caught if the police officer checked the car. He needed to do something to stop him.

"Do you know The Jackson's?" He asked, observing the officer's expression.

"Yes? Why do you ask?"

"I am his son. I belong to the Jackson's." He said, smirking. He had achieved his aim of stopping the officer's search.

Jayden wondered what his family had got to do with the issue, but he quickly realized that his family must have been an influencer.

As he heard the name, his facial expression suddenly changed.

He knew too well not to get involved in anything that had to do with The Jackson's family.

"Oh, no!"
